I'm still saving up to buy Louis Barfe's books.......

I've only read 'Turned out Nice Again', but that was brilliant. Looking forward to his next one.

Oddly, that photo you included was used in the first jacket design. I felt that there was a real danger it made the book look like a cuts job and was delighted when they completely rethought it.

I'd be delighted too, it's the most overused photo of Morris ever, as you're probably aware.

It's a paperback, but hopefully there'll be a smaller paperback edition later.

That's fine, I'll get myself a copy of the first version somehow!

I don't have any plans to include Four Lions - the book concentrates on the years up to the special.

So that would include Blue Jam & Jam, but not My Wrongs, then?  Or do you mean it covers up to the main Brass Eye series, plus the Special?  Just curious, it won't affect my purchasing decision.

Just checked out his (still poor) Wikipedia page, and I've noticed they still don't know his birthday for sure -- have you managed to get a definitive date?  (You don't have to tell us now, as long as it's in the book, that is!)

Also, I note that his eldest son is now 13 or 14 years old...that's weird.

That's true, same here.  And Jemble's one.  And Robot De Niro's.  It's no fun being literally penniless...

It is in the book yes! But I think it's probably not giving too much away to say that it's 15/6/62. So not only has Morris got a teenager - but he's 50 in two years!

Includes everything up to and the Special.

Does that mean we can expect a follow-up book about Nathan Barley?

Well, somebody had to ask.

Well, somebody had to ask.

And you did! The short answer is no. No plan to update it. I think My Wrongs, NB and Four Lions are part of a move into narrative, but that's just my feeling. I had more to say and find out about the earlier stuff.

Next time we see him as Ted Maul the make-up might not be required.

Jokes past, he looks pretty good for it.

Noticed this got a big review and 4 stars in the Metro today.

Also, came into the office and people were talking about it, so...that's probably a good thing.

That's good to hear! Thanks. It's leapt up the amazon charts but I don't quite understand how that works, I don't think it's as simple as orders. something to do with how many people are looking at the page too. Looking forward to hearing what people here think.

Waterstones has an function on their website to check stocks in their stores nationwide.  Looks as though quite a few stores are selling now, but with low stocks in some.  My local has a few in, so I'll try and pick one up tomorrow.

The Oxford Street store, by any chance?  Someone bought it today who looked suspiciously like they could be from here.  There's no magic codeword though, maybe I should have said Xbox in an excited Northern Irish accent.

They had 4 copies in the Waterstones in MeadowHall! FOUR! Is that a good sign or a bad sign?

Three copies in Nottingham. There's still two left if Koeman and Neville Chamberlain want a copy.

I went to Wanstead earlier and couldn't see any copies in stock.  Mind you, I only went to a chemist.

Here all week, possibly the next decade

There will be twenty copies in Rough Trade tomorrow for any East London 'whores (might even try and scrape the pennies together myself.) Hoping that it'll appeal to a few people - we did sell the On The Hour CDs when they came out, and I assume the book will have the same crossover appeal. I'm happy to have it in stock anyway, and as I choose the books for the shop, what I say goes!

Got mine a few days ago.  Just past the halfway stage in reading it.   Looking forward to posting review and seeing what others have to say.  Not going to air my opinions until I've finished it, though.  So, quite a pointless post, really.  Sorry.
