Another nice episode... Including 'The Scary Door'! I could watch a whole spin off series of that, then a Futurama Outer Limits spin off, then a Rod Serling Night Gallery spin off from that...... Enough!

If there was one weakness, I could have done without all the Groening narcissism... But Fry's comic book, Futerella set in the year 4000 and Bender standing on a small child were classic moments. Not forgetting the costume prarade with Scruffy in an Avatar get up.

Thought this one was a bit weaker, but still ok.  I can accept the penultimate episode of the series being a bit of a step down, especially since it's come after such a strong run of form. And next week's episode looks good.

Both this one and the last have been the strongest so far, in terms of re-establishing Futurama to something like I remember it, albeit with some new twists. There have been less of the out-of-place one-liners that appeared to have been written by a tea boy, which have marred the occasional episode for me.

it feels like theyve remembered how to write their characters/supporting characters again, from a decline that started around series 3. comparing the omicronians in this one and 'spanish fry', for example.

I enjoyed that a fair bit, it wasn't one of the series best but it was strong enough and seeing a softer side to Bender always makes me smile. It's a shame it's the last one till November, and I've no idea why we've got to wait two months for the final episode of season 6. I don't know when season 7 will air either, but I hope there's not too much of a gap.

I think each series is going to be split up into 13 episodes a year like this, so after the november episodes it won't be on again until next summer. In terms of production seasons the "6th" season is made up of 26 episodes but I guess they have longer to work on them now. But the DVD's aren't going to be in production seasons like they were before, they'll just release them as 13 episode sets.
A bit dissapointing but I suppose for a cable channel it's a more efficient way of doing things. And I suppose an easier schedule for the writing staff should mean the episodes are of a better quality.

Well, considering it's titled 'Holiday Val-U-Pak', I assume it's coming a little early if anything. These US TV execs, they're crazy.

Cohen talks a bit about it here and also talks a little about being at Comedy Central.

After I posted it, I thought someone might have already have! I thought it was quite interesting what he said Comedy Central. I had a feeling that it had only commissioned 13 episodes and then another 13, but obviously got that wrong!

In case folk didn't know, episode 13 was broadcast the other night. I dunno if the rest of the season is to follow or if it was just a one off.

Just a seasonal special, I don't think the next series will air until around the same time the last season did.

Real waste of an episode, one of those 3 part "what if" episode but without a "what if" concept, just felt like a few story ideas they couldn't be bothered to develop into whole episodes.

It was like three episodes of The Scary Door, which works much better for being a lot shorter than these.

I recall they even said they will be back for another series some time next year; or was that the announcer on the channel my copy was ripped from?

Cheers for the heads-up!

Although it did have a seasonal theme, this one was the last of this season - pretty sure it hasn't been announced when the new ones will be shown.
