Some personal stuff has come up that has kept me quite occupied the last couple of days, but a rough version is basically ready.  Could I have an email address for you (NoSleep) and Johnny Townmouse so I can email it across?

OK. Just seems a lot faster and easier to email mp3s.

We're on to round two. lazyhour has made an impressive start to the album and I'll be picking another name in a day or two to follow Johnny Textface.

Ooh, 'citing! I can't wait for my turn, I've even bought a new microphone for the occasion. By the way, I'm off on my holidays from the 20th to the 30th of September just in case my name's drawn out then.

If NoSleep isn't up for making (and printing) loads of copies of a final CD, I'm happy to do it. It's something I do for Nightmares on Wax promos every couple of months so have a fairly painless system set up for it.

I might  reserve the right to design it though (or at least the typeface if there's a 'competition' for the design).

I'm also away for the week commencing 13th September so I'm a no go for this month basically.

While we're at it, I'm not about for a week from the 16th...

I'm not jumping on the band waggon here, I mentioned earlier in the thread that I'm on holiday in Egypt for a week from next Thursday.

Also, while I'm here... Could I get some advice?
I'm running Ableton 7, but it's live lite... So not the FULL thing.
Does anyone know where I can get some good plug-ins? Some good virtual instruments... Or anything else you think I should have.
I've tried to download a knocked off Ableton 8 from a torrebnt site. Let's just say that didn't go quite according to plan...
I'm fine for recording stuff, I'm just doubling tracks to add more effects and stuff. But I'll probably buy the whole thing around Christmas time.

Er, cheers.

KVR Audio is a pretty good one stop shop for free and paid-for VST/i/s alike:

http://www.kvraudio.com/get.php

To be honest you can pretty well get by just using genuinely free virtual instruments and effects these days (imho).

Some good bread-and-butter (free) VST effects here.

This is a nice free synth, the page has a lot of japanese text but it's easy enough to see the download link if you scroll down a little bit. Or you might try Crystal.

Shortcircuit is a good free sampler.

Computer Music magazine comes with a free dvd every month which has loads of free stuff on.

I'm just waiting for Johnny Textface to confirm he's underway with our 2nd track and then I will draw a 3rd name from the hat.

Thanks very much for those links...
I might get Ableton live 8 and get a student friend to buy it...

Nice little interlude there I thought.

Something seems oddly amiss if any CaB album was going ahead without the hpmons'-inspired groupthink 200 Ways To Leave Your Lover...

I think I'm safe to announce this next one directly to the thread, as they haven't made any conditions about availability as far as I remember. So the third track will be produced by....

I'm not sure exactly how imminent Johnny Textface's track will be, other than he may have been busy on it over the weekend.

Hi - it's coming along nicely (I think). But I need a little bit more time to really sort out the arrangement as its got a tempo shift half way through..
How long are we saying we can sort of take? Am I under pressure?

Don't forget that, if all you need to do is fine-tune your piece, then a demo should be fine to forward to both myself and purlieu. After doing this you would be required not to make any radical changes.
