Thread 3, second thread here, first thread here.

Open the shoutcast in Winamp/iTunes etc.  Also works on iPhone.
http://cabradio.servebeer.com:8000/listen.pls

That link will not work if noone is streaming a show, so use this one to right click and download the pls file to your phone.

Chatroom (uses Java):
http://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk/forums/pjirc/chatroom.php

Or you can get it with an irc client on thor.portalx.org channel #cookdandbombd.  This is a much, much handier way of using chatrooms, and allows you to log chats, and has many other advantages.  Try a client like mIRC, although I think that's PC only.  Browsers can often support IRC natively now, so try clicking this and see what happens.  Other than that, everyone is welcome to take part and get involved, it's totally open access, and you can contribute full shows, jingles, mixes etc.  Most of the hosts Skypes, too, so that's another way to get involved.

HOSTS OR POTENTIAL HOSTS, PLEASE NOTE:  CaB Radio is not intended to be an endless playlist of tracks with no back-announcing or other input from the hosts, this makes for extremely dull listening.  Similarily, the onus should be on your own creativity, so try and keep the playing of other people's podcasts and suchlike to a minimum.

CaB Radio Wiki: http://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk/forums/index.php?page=cabradio

Edit it here:
http://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk/wiki/cabradio/
The auto-retwittering is now set up.  Send a twitter with cabradio or CaB Radio or #cabradio and it will be retwittered by @CaB_Radio.  So CaB_Radio is now dedicated to CaB Radio status announcements and info.

Oh, it will retwitter every half an hour, so don't resend it if you think it hasn't shown up.

You do not have to @CaB_Radio - just use one of the triggers, and use the rest of the space to promote/describe your shows.

Few more ideas for @CaB_Radio, too.

Nadgers...

Okay, non-HS-Artists, this year's Xmas story's been started HERE: http://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,26166.msg1372359.html#new

ApexJazz has kindly agreed to continue the loooong tradition of being our genial narrator, and we'll hopefully have the story finished ready for him by the first week of December at the latest. So get stuck in! Or just be... y'know... a bit boring really.

JUST DO IT YOUSE! Well, if you're funny, that is. Don't do it if you're not funny. Unless you are me.

Also works on iPhone.

If you have iOS 4.0, so can do multi-tasking, I recommend spending a couple of quid on Tunemark and Colloquy. I only use these two apps for CaB Radio, so as soon as I open them, the radio starts streaming and the chatroom opens.

I will be starting a new thread for this on the 25th November, but seeing as the festive incentive is beginning to emerge....

'Hullo everyone!

Hope you're all enjoying the imminency of seasonal greetings.

I am offering my services to host on Christmas Day. I'd like to think most of you would much rather be listening than hosting while recovering from your roasts, putting your feet up on the sofa and flicking through endless channels, unable to find anything worth watching....

Well fear not! I intend to put together a 24 hour Christmas schedule, comprising of original shows by yourselves, Christmas specials from yesteryear, and a fair few festive surprises.

For those who often host and present shows for CaB Radio, I bear good tidings - if you assemble a pre-recorded Christmas mix (from 30 minutes to 2 hours in length)[1], I will put it into the 24 hour schedule.

All you have to do is to send the uploaded link of your show to me ( calnert@aol.com ), and if you do so by the evening of Friday 17th December, and provide your address, the first 10 contributors will be sent a vintage Christmas present from my huge red sack! I have obtained a variety of popular pressies from the 60s, 70s and 80s in preparation for the occasion, so for every person who contributes there will be a proper, old-school present sent to you (hopefully) in time for Christmas Day!

I will most likely be working until 3 or 4pm, and so the 24 hour schedule will start soon after. Once I have received all contributions, I will post the complete schedule up on here on the 23rd.

If you are unable to prepare a recorded show, don't worry - feel free to join in aurally with the festivities on Christmas Day.

Looking forward to compiling the schedule and ho ho hope to receive a few seasonal shows from some of you soon!

Warm regards,

DCT'

If anyone would like to incoroporate a live show into the Xmas Day schedule, please let me know asap. If you were going to do a Xmas show anyway but plan to do it before Xmas Day, I'm more than happy to incoroporate a potential repeat in the schedule, but obviously brand new shows are preferable.
 1. A collection of jingles and links is also acceptable.

COMEDY/NOVELTY SONGS COUNTDOWN - UPDATE!

Well, the votes are in. A huge enormous bastard of thanks to all of those involved in the nominations and voting process, and generally to those who have supported the project. Despite a relatively whispered turnout, I am still able to put out 8 shows for your pleasure.

SHOW 1: 'THE NOMS THAT DIDN'T MAKE IT (PART 1)' - THURSDAY 25TH NOVEMBER
SHOW 2: 'THE NOMS THAT DIDN'T MAKE IT (PART 2)' - TO BE CONFIRMED
SHOW 3: 'THE NOMS THAT DIDN'T MAKE IT (PART 3)' - TO BE CONFIRMED
SHOW 4: 'IN 17TH PLACE AND 16TH PLACE' - TO BE CONFIRMED
SHOW 5: 'IN 15TH PLACE AND 14TH PLACE' - TO BE CONFIRMED
SHOW 6: 'IN 13TH, 12TH AND 11TH PLACE' - TO BE CONFIRMED
SHOW 7: 'THE TOP 10' - IN THE WEEK LEADING UP TO CHRISTMAS DAY
SHOW 8: 'THE MISSING NOMINATIONS' - BETWEEN CHRISTMAS DAY AND NEW YEAR

My work rota is particularly sporadic so the dates of Show 2 and onward are to be determined as and when.

...And yes, there were a fair few joint places leading up to the Top 10....

I will be in touch with a few of the voters and nominators soon to see if they would like to either Skype in or record a 1-5 minute blurb regarding particular songs.

Stay tuned, and thanks again!

Ok, so the end result is naff all. Switching to Soundcard Input on winamp just leaves the listeners with no music and the sound of me clicking and typing, which was the problem in the fucking first place, and that appliest to Line Input and Microphone input too.

I've got the splitters in. Got the lead hooking them up, got them in the right ports. Why isn't this working?

I've just reinstalled Winamp, tested out the radio bits, all seems to be working dandy....

However, although the music appears to play when on the radio, I can't hear it (unless I'm listening the stream). Also, when I'm not even on the radio, just playing music in Winamp, I can't hear it either. Sound is on full, etc, but can't hear anything.

Can anyone help me in my idiocy? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Ah, the ol' 'Use dither' button. Fixed.

I have such terrible news I'm not at all sure how to break it to everyone.. but I was just about to have a listen to last year's Apexjazz-narrated Xmas Story, and I find I don't have a copy. At all. So it doesn't exist anywhere, to my knowledge. Sorry to just blurt it out like that, but sometimes these things are best delivered cold. It is a tragedy. :(

Do you still have it in written form? Personally just to see the whole tale as written would be new to me. Also it means there could still an opportunity for it to be re-read in the future if necessary :)

This really is most terribly exciting. I'll do a pre-recorded show, because my Christmas Day consists of cooking, eating, and recovering with my belt undone one notch. And, obviously, listening.

If you need a hand sourcing any of the Christmas specials you're after, let me know. I might have them hereabouts. If Black Cinderella Two Goes East isn't on BBC7's festive schedule, we need to make sure it's being broadcast somewhere.

Sorry Bini, I thought you hadn't settled exactly when yet - there were offers coming this way and everywhere so wasn't sure if you were settling on tonight or not. Is tonight the only night you can make it? If so I'll try and sort out the necessary arrangements, no problem.
