So was there a just a load of old cobblers then?As now it appears that Operation Midland was started on the information given by, alleged abuse survivor, 'Nick'. It all seems a new and am not sure what to believe now, but I got see that is potentially what was wanted.  Soz for lack of link but typing this on my phone.

Cobblers, all of it. From Fred West to Jimmy Savile. Fictional bogeymen conjured up by sinister journalists to frighten the populace.

Get back to the shops and rejoice in your freedoms, people of this land.

This whole investigation was off the back of his allegations then?? I thought there was far more to it than that, a certain 1980s Cabinet minister being stopped at customs with CSA video. Elm House too, where a pop star was alleged to frequent among other unsavoury types. Is this how these things get swept out of the public consciousness, as it all seems very fishy.

We got Jimmy, Rolf and Stuart Hall, is that not enough for you people?! Clearly the only institutional paedophile problem we have in this country involved a handful of octogenarian light entertainers and does not involve anyone in positions of power at all.

Obviously though, those in power have to shamble of this mortal coil before they are held to account. Even then it would appear to be on their polical ranking, Cyril Smith has no widows or children to go on Newsnight and say how the allegations are completely unfounded.

Quincey

Former TV weatherman Fred Talbot has been found guilty of historical sex offences against boys he took on school trips to Scotland:

It does seem very convenient for those concerned to be able to discredit the entire story as the fevered imaginings of one unreliable witness. That worked out very nicely for them.

The comments about the guy seeming like "an actor" are certainly very interesting in that light.

Is that really Jonathan King?

Yup, he posted for a while, mainly to promote his musical, but sometimes to chat about other things. He also sent out a whole load of Christmas Cards to anyone on CaB who wanted one, because life is strange like that.

Christ alive.

Should I stop posting here? Will I end up on a register?

Well, well, well?

Ted Heath must be bricking it.

Oh, that's right..

gepree

Just one thing.  When asked about Ted Heath on the Sunday Politics don't spend the entire interview looking away from the the f-ing camera!

Some context for a news-dry Pig.

I reckon we'll have the big fish caught by the time this thread reaches 100 pages.

It's all done in the open now at Brazilian modern art shows.

Good that he managed to lay off the noncing whilst serving as PM though.

QuoteThe claims against Heath that would have merited interview under caution span 31 years. The alleged rape is claimed to have occurred in 1961 with the alleged victim being 11 years old.

Not so good is the timing. By a curious coincidence, the story you linked to is getting more attention than: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/oct/05/police-sexual-abuse-officers-watchdog - an issue that was first highlighted several years ago.

As per previous discussion, the expert brought in by Wiltshire to assess the claims against Heath, went public with her concerns over their investigation: https://www.theguardian.com/society/2016/nov/27/ted-heath-police-child-abuse-inquiry-fantastical-evidence

Ed Heath would have been questioned by police regarding historic allegations of sexual abuse of children...if it hadn't been for those pesky kids!!!

Fambo Number Mive

QuoteMI5 was made aware prosecutors lied to the press over the existence of a Cyril Smith child abuse file, an inquiry heard.

Detectives had said the "sordid" claims about the late MP's alleged abuse of young boys in 1970 "stood up".

No charges were brought, but in 1979 the Director of Public Prosecutions lied to the press over the case.

The inquiry is examining how Smith was allegedly able to target boys in Rochdale institutions.

The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) heard how the investigation into Smith had "illuminated" wider abuse suffered by the boys.

In 1988, when Smith was made a knight, then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher had probably been informed of his chequered past, it was told.

The hearings are focusing on alleged offences at Cambridge House hostel and the Knowl View residential school in Rochdale, where Smith was a governor...

Thatcher's personal secretary was also Peter Morrison, MP for Cheshire, who it was well known had a penchant for underage boys and had been arrested in the toilets in Crewe for propositioning a lad. Edwina Curries diaries even referenced him as  'a noted pederast with a liking for young boys', though they say Thatcher knew of his past when giving him the position, it was `played down' as having a thing for 'young men',

Surprised Edwina "I've got nothing to apologise for" Currie didn't give him the keys to a children's hospital.

It's weird that only dead people can be paedos.

Slaughter them at birth. It's the only solution.

Seems like this has all been suitably swept under the carpet now.
