Goldfrapp have just released the first track from their new album Silver Eye which is coming out on 31st March, and it's not too bad!

Sounds like they're going back to the dancey electro stuff.

Came here to post about this also. It is definitely very Black Cherry/Supernature. Keen to hear more!

It's a very exciting day for Frapp fans. I love the Black Cherry style edginess of it. It's still very marketable and mainstream and I can see why this one has been chosen to be released first but I do appreciate that you can hear the Goldfrapp sound and I love the imagery of this new era!

Dr Syntax Head

I really like this. As has already been said a return to Black Cherry/Supernature is most welcome. Lovely stuff.

Norton Canes

Cool. Have to have a listen when I get home.

There was some great dancey electro stuff on their last but one album Head First, too.

Silver Eye, copper top.

Typical. You wait years for a big-in-the-late-90's electro pop artist to release new material, then two do it in the same week.

This is also really damn fine

I didn't realise she'd had a solo album out already, in 2013. Took my eye off the ball there.

It's very good and all. I mean it pretty much sounds like a Ladytron album but that's hardly to its detriment.

Also make a note of 2014 single Wolves in case that falls by the wayside and doesn't end up on the next album.

I liked the Goldfrapp one, which was a surprise because I'm not such a fan of them. However, I thought the one by the Ladytron lady was a bit meh, which was disappointing as I am a huge fan of theirs.

No idea why my career as a music critic never took off.

Norton Canes

Ooh got to say the Helen Marnie track just has the edge. Goldfrapp one very good also though.

Neomod

and like yin and yang I prefer the Goldfrapp although I like the hint of shoegaze in Marnie's track.

That popjustice soundcloud link don't work no more so here's another.

Ladytron did some great things adding some gaze to their electronica. Sugar in particular with the Loveless guitars all over it. Lovely.

Love that Goldfrapp track, starts off very Róisín but then become quite individual.

Second single from this, "Ocean", came out recently:

I really dug this, more than the first one I think. That moment when the drums kick in was immense.

Custard

The album is good stuff, I think. Starts strong, though I drifted off a bit in the middle as it gets a bit samey. It certainly picks up again towards the end with the brilliant Everything Is Never Enough, then Moon In Your Mouth and Ocean

Will give it a few more listens, but enjoyed it on first listen
