Wasn't sure whether this would be fair to post in Tech Oscers. Post your favourite video game scores.

Here's some lovely toonage:

https://youtu.be/5cg2pNpXgiM
Valiant Hearts - Little Trinketry (Butter-like zen med. Beautifully constructed as a war tribute anthem. Very Agnes Obel sounding.)

https://youtu.be/pP3D8bkLfAI
Stronghold - Castle Jam (Reminds me of a long lost B-side by Focus. Robert L. Euvino also composed Space Colony's score. A fluttering lilt to base building, G)

https://youtu.be/Cb5lIK-viDQ
Rumble Racing - Wild Kingdom (Oldskool kool as fuck, lads. I remember getting bomb'd to this, relatively recently, and my temple caught fire.)

https://youtu.be/nLRi7jl_UT0
Tekken 2 (You know it, mang)

No posting the Theme Hospital OST. It makes me want to self harm.

I'd like to hear this song from Persona 3 sung in the club style

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jFaoLrLzd4

Speaking of Persona, I'm very hyped for 5, and have heard this song an amount that's weird for a video game trailer song

Until the cocoa spread soul chorus pipes in it sounded a lot like Infected Mushroom's Artillery. Feeling that?

Also never once played a Persona. Lynch me.

I think that might even be heard in game, or at least a couple of remixes of it.

I was slightly disappointed in the music variety on 5; there doesn't seem to be as much of it as 4.

Man, I really should finish it. Got really close to the end as well, but got stuck on a beef cake of a boss and couldn't be arsed going back to grind.

Some 90s/early 2000s mainly techno-ish tracks:

I'm tired as balls today, and I had Kingdom: New Lands on in the background, just chilling to it's rather lovely soundtrack which veers from ambient smoke-out to creepy woo-fest.

Nier Automata sample

And, the emotional gut-punch that ended the original FFXIV and served as a key theme for a while. It's a toss up between this and the Witcher 2 CGI intro for best cutscene imo.

Chairman Bodog

I only just became aware of Bastion last week so I've been relentlessly bugging to spotter's brand toonage. Got the whole score on lock. Wonderful stuff. Even 'The Singer's' theme, which is unmistakably a sneering ironic Trump protest song - https://youtu.be/EDagBGdMtQ0

Top notch burnout bytheway. I got it for £3 on March discount.

And then the murders began on the fucking deals bhatt.

Toejam & Earl - Toejam Jammin'

Nicely Herbie Hancock-esque.

The Japanese seem to understand the importance of video game music.

PSO - Pioneer 2

D4 - Blue Cat

Danganronpa- Box 15

SMT -Kichijoji

Although, I suspect it may a case of Stockholm Syndrome from having to listen to these pieces of music over and over again for hours. I played Persona 4 last year and those songs still pop into my head with alarming regularity.

Chairman Bodog

Pretty groovy.

I just recalled that mythical Lavender Town theme that was said to have caused mass suicide. Definitely just a creepypasta myth, but it is nightmarishly awful.

The Robocop OST for the Spectrum is a heavyweight - cadged by the shady Ariston corporation, no less:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=os57CXh6COw

EDIT - someone's beaten me to it in the Oscillations thread. The Streets of Rage soundtrack is another contender:

Black Ship

The Undertale OST is a thing of beauty, but this track in particular stands out as being almost incongruous to the rest of the OST. I don't know whether it's more Aphex Twin or Prodigy, but it's totally mental.

Agreed on Undertale. The long version of Megalovania still gets semi-regular plays from me, and there's another theme which never fails to tug the ol' heartstrings.

Chairman Bodog

This War of Mine was great. I played The Little Ones patched version off the plus lineup a month or so back. Frustrating but had some beautiful dark ambient sounds.

Also, did everyone hold their piss and shit in back then?

And also, why does knocking up ten rollies cost the same amount of time as assembling a state of the art assault rifle? That's poor skinning or top arms cracking.

Chairman Bodog

Scrolling through Oscers I just remembered this thread, and effectually managed to head crawl a classic. I've clocked a hundred odd hours in Stardew Valley. Most of it was spent stuff shoving cake and fish into the hands of ungrateful villagers. Anyway, this is a track from the Journey of the Prairie King mini game that's in Gus's shit dive bar of a pub.

https://youtu.be/yaBNr6zv0ek

Got an almost spongey neo-indie vibe. It's a track that's not so gravy, not so wavy. I got a Stockholm attachment to the tune from trying to arduously nab the completion trophy though.

Wizardry VII opening theme:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owWJUD-QUls

Regal pomp rendered in a flurry of gradually mounting MIDI pyrotechnics.

You don't need to put the O. It's an ST. A soundtrack. Official Sound Track is just what they write on the case. Videogame STs. For fuck's christ.

Is that what it stands for?  I always thought it meant 'Original Sound Track' when used in films to indicate it was music composed specifically for the film as opposed to classical or whatever.
