One of those films that can never live up to the title and accompanying poster but was intoxicating to me as a kid. Never seen it; merde?

Was probably a lot better in the last Mad Max film.

Dr Rock

(it's in the '66 movie, so it counts)

Ok this one doesn't count.

Will probably be misused again but in the original...

Along the same lines the shadow ships from Babylon 5...

Clark Griswold's sledge in Xmas Vacation.

Dex Sawash

Not film but Archer really nails the casting of vehicles, sets and objects. Never a generic car/truck/plane.

Dr Syntax Head

The Cylon fighter things from the remake Battlestar Galactica. Especially when Starbuck is working out how to fly a crashed one. Great stuff.

I always felt they looked a bit silly but that episode used them well.

It's not from a film, but I remember some American mid 90s Knight Rider-esque guff that featured an articulated lorry with a helicopter stuck on the front. Every time he was in danger, the lorry would open and he'd fly off in the 'copter.

The Highwayman? Made by Glen Larson after Knight Rider and starring Sam 'Flash Gordon' Jones.

It was a Kenworth cabover with an Aerospatiale Gazelle (the same type of helicopter Blue Thunder was built from) cockpit grafted on as the cab.
The series was cancelled after one season. The builder fo the truck kept hold of it and started converting it into a mobile home. He eventually sold it in 2013 and it was converted into a mobile tattoo and piercing studio:
