Pre 9/11, I wrote the following:

On Saturday 27th May in a secret warehouse location in London, you are hereby invited to join Janie Jones and myself for an afternoon of debate, hot gossip, singing, poetry recitals and maybe even a recipe swap. We're structuring the event around a free-flowing discussion between your hosts, where we'll be touching on some of the highlights of our careers, and even hoping to give fans and well-wishers a soupçon of our plans for the future. We've spent some time talking it over and decided to set just the one rule for the conversation: no topic is taboo! We're expecting this will make for quite the irreverent occasion ... but don't worry---we're convinced it'll make for good clean fun for all the family.

The event is free, but ticketed, so please do RSVP to reserve your space!

Then I suggested the Water Poet for a venue, since it is large.

And some people said they would come to it. From memory: Replies From View, Eight Taiwanese Teenagers, Howj Begg, ... Others?

Stoneage Dinosaurs

I saw that thread and didn't reply, but I'm definitely up for whatever goes down over there

Wish I could but I'm still not physically able to yet.

Do it anyway?  That's what I would do.  "Yet" doesn't enter into it.  It's called "breaking your new knees in".

Eight Taiwanese Teenagers

I didn't say I'd definitely come. On an average Saturday this would be high on my list of things to do but as it's a bank holiday, and because it's the FA Cup Final, Im not sure yet.

Serge

Yeah, as with the Birmingham meet, I'm a no because of work. Once I get my hospital shite out of the way, I'm going to plan another Manchester meet, though.

Ambient Sheep

Sadly I'm booked up elsewhere that day, but given my recent record I probably wouldn't have managed to turn up anyway.

Plus I can't work out whether or not it's serious.

EDIT: Ok, thanks for clarification. :-)

She can't see red hats unfortunately.

Janie Jones

My reply to this thread is lost, it was something about crying and wanking IIRC. I also mentioned the Birmingham meet which is the following week
http://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,59869.0.html#lastPost
27 May is for those of us stuck in London over the bank holiday weekend who can't make the Birmingham meet.
I think maybe shiftwork2 had replied to the lost thread saying he might me about? And Buelligan - oh wait, no, that was my wildest dreams.
^^The Arnolfini was good, didn't see kittens or anyone in a red hat but while I was there a small child fell down a couple of steps near the library and sustained light bruising.

kittens

i knew it was you! didn't want to say hello because you were with someone and would have had to explain how you know me. or worse, i would have had to explain to you both

My very important reply was lost in the great hack of 2017. Here it is again:

I'm busy that weekend, please rearrange it completely around my needs. Thanks.

Your memory is capable of penetrating what was lost in the hack?

We need to harness this.

I'm altered carbon mate; able to interface directly with computers. Make any request and I'll try to grant it.

She's probably too busy moaning strong and stable as her husband bums her on the veranda to sue me, but just in case like

WesterlyWinds

By verandah I mean on a ledge. He's bumming her allegedly

I said I might come, gammy leg permitting.

How are things with your gammy leg out of interest?

Well, the underlying chronic pain is no better, but the amitriptyline really takes the edge off so I'm much more comfortable more of the time. But two side effects of amitriptyline I'm getting is weight gain, so I've had to join a gym and train really hard, and it makes me wake up in the night about five times, wide awake, which is leaving me shattered. Looking for a solution to that, even a borrowed diazepam didn't stop me waking up at 1-30 thinking it was morning already.

Thanks for asking, i like moaning about it. Mentally my attitude is 'shit happens' and I'm not down in the dumps about it.

Nobody can tell me if its permanent or it might get better, but it's been two years now and it's basically the same.

Ah that sounds all kinds of frustrating, I'm sorry to hear that, but you definitely have a better attitude to it all then I did! The not knowing if it could be sorted out was what made me struggle the most, and having the recent surgery has helped me psychologically an enormous amount, so I hope they do manage to find a solution soon.

I've never been on amitriptyline but my mum used to take it and she got very dopey and disturbed me with her lack of driving abilities. I wasn't in the car at the time but she hit a kid on a skateboard once, he shattered her windscreen but thankfully somehow wasn't hurt. So I'm glad to hear you're not suffering from that possible side effect at least!

pancreas

Bump. This is next weekend. Should we arrange a time?

Janie Jones! When are you likely to be in circulation?

Howj Begg

I'm not going to be able to come until after 3 or 4pm, as I'm working :(

So i hope to be there for like 5:30 or so

Replies From View

I'll be there about 5.30 as well.

Is the Water Poet the venue?
