Read a fair chunk of the manga, could be great if done well. Miike's lurid style could go either way really.

I watched this today and quite enjoyed it. Coming into it never read the manga or watched any of Miike's films, I enjoyed the brutality mixed with some humour in there that made it a fun experience. It's not perfect - it doesn't really break new ground and does what you would expect, and is about 20 minutes too long, but it's pretty good.

Does he yell "IT'S SPACE TIME!!!!!111" at the top of his lungs in this as well.
