Alphabet Challenge

OK – A new challenge... one you can take your time on...

This is inspired by LadyDay's little challenge on this page:
http://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=7728&start=540

...and the fact that it reminded me of something my dad had when I was younger... a similar idea – but with letters of the alphabet...

So I spent the last two evenings (when yes, I should have been doing something else), on this...

Your first task is to find the 64 "A" words that I have hidden in here. There may-be more than that, depends on how you look at things. Some are real tiny - so watch out.

Your second is to claim your stake to another letter of the alphabet (by saying what it is on here, so no other bugger nicks it) and then waste your own time creating one of these marvels! When we've finished the WHOLE alphabet, I'll see what I can do about getting them printed into our own little book. (I realize this may be in about 3 years time!)

Enjoy

sam and janet evening

This is a fantastic idea!

5 to start it off then,
Acrobats
Ankles
Afro
Arsenal
Amplifier

I'll claim a letter some other time (I quite fancy 'S' actually) since there's little chance of me having time to put on of these together for a few weeks.

You have hidden 64 words in a picture?

Have you become a squirrel?

Do we have to win to choose a letter? I want Q.

Is "art" one, by itself? What's the pommel horse all about? Apparatus?

Avocet

That's what sort of bird is on the RSPB's sign, pub quiz fans.

There's art on the wall on the right I suppose.

Is that woman wearing some kind of angora jacket?

tony peanuts

butnut

Here's one that Bruegel did in 1559 for you to do. There's over 100 hundred proverbs in here.

(I've no idea what any of them are either, but it's one of my favourite paintings).

menguin

He throws roses to the swine?
The fall of the cards?
Big fish eat little fish?
Two dogs over one bone rarely agree?

As you say, not a clue about the proverbs but definitely a fascinating painting.

susie

Don't keep your pies on the roof.
Shearing a pig is a waste of time.
Bend over in front of a pig, and he'll sniff your arse.
Talking to a woman is like banging your head against a brick wall.
Don't shit on your own doorstep.
Make hay while the sun shines, but don't talk to two beavers.
Make sure your mother knows where your arse is when she puts your nappy on.
The man with antlers gets a blowjob in a the porch.

butnut

Hahaha! I'd never noticed that before and it's almost in the centre of the painting. It certainly looks a bit like a blowjob. I wonder what it is meant to be?

MojoJojo

Afternoon
Angler
Anorak
Americas (not America, I mean the page of the Atlas.)

Whats that bird at the top left?
And the pills on the steps.

butnut

Where you you looking? I thought it was no. 34:

Quote34. It will be confessed to the devil (it entrusts its secrecies to its enemies).

That doesn't really resolve the issue.

susie

Oh yeah, I was looking at Part 5.

Well, it's  a variation of the 'Loose lips, sink ships' saying. I like the idea of being a priest and having people confess to the devil, though!

Tre

Donno where this artist is – or the athlete! I didn't put them there!
Yep Gazzy – Apparatus.
Adjournment?!
Look more closely at the "art" on the wall.
The "Jacket" isn't Angora
There is no Angler! Are you just picking random words!
Think about the "pills" on the chair...
Still quite a few left to get though. Some REALLY obvious ones.

oh - and it's not an "amphitheatre" - that is usually outside

So sam and janet evening has "S" and Slim has Q. And I want...O.

Nicely dug up there butnut. Bruegel was pretty clever wasn't he!

What could you possibly mean by that, you pig?

An avocet.

Suttonpubcrawl

There's what looks like a certificate on the wall near the bottom right of the picture. Could it be an accreditation?

Suttonpubcrawl

On the wall in the Art I spot:
Anus
Arse
Aces

and something I can't make out. Could it be
Abstract art?

There's an Airliner in the background of the Ambulance photo.

Of course, it's all taking place in an Auditorium, not amphitheatre.

edit: Is that an African elephant?

56 but the last 5 are pretty ropey :)

Tre

Well - there is more than five there that were unintentional - but you've got many that weren't and haven't been got yet there.

The Elephant is African

The art is Abstract

It is an Auditorium

the Accreditation was an award - but double your points for Accreditation - that's more cleverer than I is.

More clues...

Not just apples in the basket

There is alot of SNOW in the right hand corner - what's that all about?

Who would be on a stage, and what is around her?

Once you have those four, there is still eight that I don't think people have got yet... plus all the ones I didn't write down that are there by accident.

I'm busy working on O now - this has become quite addictive!

EDIT: Just did a recount - not including all the extras - it is now 69 - sorry!... but I have created an answer picture with red dots all over the things if anyone wants it. PM me.
