Okay, I'm probably being at bit biased since I'm friendly with this lot, but they are a really good band. They're considerably talented for their age and certainly the ONLY good group to emerge from Suffolk (the bassist and drummer are also involved with a group called The Creyola Thief Genius, but I do have to admit I'm not that keen on them).

Also, you fine 'Whores might like to know that I got the keyboardist hooked on Big Star (some of you might be pleased with that), and the drummer is eternally grateful for all the Damo Suzuki and Wolf Eyes stuff I send him.

I saw The VC's play sometime last year in Bristol, I really enjoyed their set - plus it was the first time I'd seen a theramin being played other than on the telly!
http://myspace.com/thevcs

They've a surf-rock type sound, and have adopted a 50's sci-fi b-movie look, which is...different, but in a good way I think. Kinda.

'Barbarella' is probably my favourite one on their myspace page.
Their video for 'Heaven & Hell' is pretty fantastic , which you can see on their myspace page too.

I saw these guys supporting the Mad Caddies in London a few weeks ago.  I witnessed some of the worst dancing I have ever seen...

I saw 'em support King Prawn a couple of years ago and they seemed pretty promising.  I noticed a few weeks ago that they've got an album out (so don't know if they really qualify for this thread), so I might check it out.  Now that I've mentioned them, I think King Prawn should just reform and kick the entire planet's arse really hard.

Sherringford Hovis

Jumblecabbage is a new mate I met the other week while he was doing sterling work as doorman of the club at which I DJ my blues/jazz/soul/funk stuff a couple of nights a week. If there's going to be a British Alexander O'Neal or Billy Ocean, then this fella's the shoe-in.

Jemble Fred

Am I blinded by 'friendship', or are Michaele Arvidson's tracks fucking AWESOME? (excuse the teenage verbiage, it excites me). I'm launching a new comedy venue next month, and am using 'Smudgin Pudgin' as the theme. Anyway: http://www.myspace.com/michaelearvidson

Hurra Torpedo. A crazy Norwegian band that do covers of songs using kitchen appliances as percussion. The video of Total eclipse of the heart is definetly worth watching, hilarious stuff and he really does get a good beat out of that fridge!

niat

My mate has just sent me his Myspace page. Haven't seen him for ages, top bloke and talented music making chap, just a shame he's a Spurs fan.

I'm not sure I've posted them before but  http://www.myspace.com/swimmerone   Swimmer One are fantastic.

The Plaque Goblin

Amongst the good stuff John Peel played would occasionally be something that really grabbed my attention.

During 1997-99 a band called Polythene was one.

They even had a NME Single of the Week with their Pet Hates EP

Shockingly, some seven years later, I find they are still around, kind of...

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Yeah please do.

There's a Post Your Own songs thread a couple of pages back also.

Rolf Harris

Cheers, I'll check that other thread out too.
In the meantime, here's my band...

Any feedback, thoughts and opinions gratefully received. Unless it's criticism.

Joking.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Which one are you?

Just listened. I liked Don't Sleep Tightly a lot, and New Century Gospel sounds very similar to one of my tracks actually so obviously I like it.

Vote Contortionist I could take it or leave it really, and Schlock wasn't really my thing.

Rolf Harris

I'm Steve, the drummer. Oh no! I've just revealed my true identity. Sorry to break it to you all; I'm not the real Rolf Harris.

Interesting choices from you there, most people like Vote and Schlock, and don't really bother with Don't Sleep Tightly. Hardly anyone ever says anything about New Century Gospel.

Cheers for listening. We're currently recording a ten track album, so the tunes on that page will very likely change soon. If anyone is even slightly interested, more information on us can be found at //www.contortionist-manifesto.com.

Hope it's ok to post this link... we don't make any money from anything on the site, EPs are sent out for free, so it's not like I'm pushing some dodgy money making scheme. Our upcoming gig(s) are listed on that site.

Have just stumbled across this Bachelorette person from New Zealand:

//www.myspace.com/bachelorettepop

I reckon it's great! I like stumbling across things I'd never normally hear.

Can't remember this thread, can't remember if I've already posted anything, can't be bothered to look so here's my band, too, just in case:

pandadeath

May aswell plug my own face then. I've got a couple of MySpace music accounts, one being my own Fancy Lady (www.myspace.com/fancylady) t'other being a band i'm in called Drive Slow Sit Low (www.myspace.com/driveslowsitlow). Neither have been updated for a while, but both of them are still going.

Deadman97

My friend's band Cop on the Edge are here. They play live a lot, and seem to have quite a few fans, and he's a good friend and everything, but I think they might be a bit shit.

A friend of mine who records as Rain Fall Down, I used to write songs with him but now he's very good.

Marvin

I don't know these people at all, but I sure do like their songs. Kind of experimental folk.

Peking O

I think they're still unsigned (they won't be for much longer). This is Brooklyn's wonderfully named O'Death.

http://www.myspace.com/odeath

And while we're at it, another new Brooklyn band with a great name, Dragons of Zynth.

http://myspace.com/dragonsofzynth

hansen mork

//www.myspace.com/devaneys

Thats the band i'm in. We have a couple of other songs better than whats on there but havent got a decent recording of them yet.
And the name 5ths reversed is definatley not staying.

LadyDay

Groove-Based Minimal Trance-Like Soundscapes which under the right conditions transport one to Strange Otherworldly Landscapes that feel very nice and seem to melt!

Julia tells me she joined because it was interesting and challenging, which is something considering she used to be in the Fall.

My Giddy Aunt

http://www.myspace.com/edgarjonesandthejoneses

Caught up with an old friend this weekend, this is his band. Sound cool to me, interesting vocal!
