I've always wanted to venture into art, or rather my ideas that I just want to exhibit. I think that what I want to do falls under the catagory of performance art but it's basically conceptual sequences of events that's borderline comedy and would involve relatively expensive props and a fair bit of stage space.

Aside from getting the guts to put these ideas in motion, I just don't don't know where to start. Is getting these kind of gigs all about who you know or can they be got just by ringing around the right venues and booking a slot? Any links/contact numbers or general advice would be great.

Look around at local (or national) venues for acts similar to yourself. Get yourself sending off PR stuff to them, attatch contact information, then hope for the best. It's worked for me so far.

I don't know much about art, but I know what I like.

Cheers, Lee.

I would do the sandwhich thing, but I've got a deadly reaction to cheese.
