Dr David V

I don't know what's possessed me to do this, but over the last 9 days I've ended up buying 9 CDs. Now I love music, but I've never been this prolific in my purchasing. I bought, in chronological order:

Mr Oizo - Last Night A DJ Killed My Dog
British Sea Power - The Decline Of...
'Weird Al' Yankovic - Poodle Hat
Boards Of Canada - Music Has The Right To Children
Squarepusher - Ultravisitor
HMV Playlist - Dance & Urban
The Hives - Your New Favourite Band
Jacknife Lee - Muy Rico!
Jonny Greenwood - Bodysong

Has anyone else ever found themselves just buying and buying over such a short space of time?

Yeh, I buy a lot of blank cd's, I have "the internet." :)

You do realise that downloading music is a crime, young man?

Fuck off you say? I didn't know you were Russian ;-)

Actually almost all of what I download is Japanese music videos/tv shows.  Tell me where I can buy them in the UK and I will, otherwise, as you say, fuck off ;) ;) :D

The Plaque Goblin

Downloading is killing home taping.

A couple of months back, I spent £70 in HMV 2 weeks in a row.

elderford

I've bought 5 Fall cds and the new Fall dvd this week.

It's fucking ace round my house.

(not so sure my girlfriend feels the same mind you).

kidsick5000

I spend on average $100-250 on cds at HMV a week.

I think i got a problem

Hu Vibrational - 'Beautiful: Boonghee Music 2'

What's this like? It has a good name. Last I heard of that guy was Blazing Arrow with Chief Xcel. What else did they do? Ah yes, the superb NIA and the A2G EP.

Oh, and the GAB remix of DJ Shadow's Midnight In A Perfect World. Thanks for reminding me about those tracks, I haven't listened to them in too long.

And 40 0z. They make some beautifully honest music, those solesides people ...

QuoteI'm so confused I have no control of my life I think I'll get lit
So as my problems compile, I steady smile, oh yes
Sippin on that forty ounce that's leadin me to a path of nowhere
So as I think about tomorrow, I hesitate and say:
a forty ounce for breakfast, will get me through the day ...

Guess I should look here more often.

Only heard it once so far, but it's very good. I thought 'Blazing Arrow' was an absolute classic though, it remains to be seen whether this will get as much rotation on my stereo.

Regarding Solesides/Quannum stuff, last year's album 'Later That Day' by Lyrics Born (of Latyrx fame), was fucking wonderful.

Vermschneid Mehearties

QuoteHMV Playlist - Dance & Urban

You don't so much buy that as get it when you buy other CD's. Surprisingly spiffy though.

Yeahm but you can buy it on its own for a few quid as well as getting it free.

Vinyl junkie + charity shops = filling up the new unit you bought for records far too quickly.

Some limited edition disco thing that I bought because it had Back To My Roots on it

morgs

I spent a huge part of my student loan buying every beatles and beach boys cd a few years back... in one hugely extravagent purchase.  Every Doors CD a few weeks later....

You lucky swine!  I'd love to have that on vinyl!  Where on earth can you get records of this kind of quality for the price you paid??

mook

Five quid bloody hell. Are you practising that special form of shopping where you pick up want you want, and then chuck a fivers worth of coppers at the startled old bint behind the counter before legging it? If so that was me old mum's idea first ya cheeky get.

Talking about "buying" CDs, is anyone else having a bit of hassle with Soulseek it seems to be crashing every hour or so. I'm new to this soulseek thingy is it normally like this? Anyway it's still bloody good value;)

Pinball

I download like buggery, and still buy a load of stuff, albeit mainly DVDs. I reckon downloading stimulates demand, man, just like the tainment addicts we are ;-)

That's almost as good as Mayer's My Bloody Valentine charity shop haul....almost.
