Gina McKee?

You are right to think that.

She has an incredibly sexy voice over voice too - which is unusual - as sexy female voice overs usually are about 18 stone when you meet them.

Glebe

No, your not alone TC.

I know Gina McKee was in Our Friends In The North and Notting Hill. Anything else she's been in?!

Okay, I could check IMDB but I'm just trying to make conversation...

The Mumbler

In the drama documentary about the tsunami on BBC2. Actually, isn't it on right now?

Purple Tentacle

Monkeyman1138

She's pretty good in multiple roles in MirrorMask.

Panbaams

She's good as Clive Owen's girlfriend in Croupier, which is worth a look anyway.

Jemble Fred

Come on, she'll always be 'that one off of The Lenny Henry Show' no matter how great an actress she is (and I know, she is brilliant).

Entropy Balsmalch

Do you know - I never realised that was her until you just mentioned it.

I remember having strange stirings about her when I was too young to know what women were.

BJB

Was watching today and noticed that if you listen closley in the morris elephant introduction you can hear what sounds like background noise off a street or something.

Im sure theres some big technial reason beheind it but im too tired to delve into that at the moment.

Quote from: "Entropy Balsmalch"My favourite spoddy observation about Brass Eye, and something which isn't often discussed, is Channel 4's obvious over-sensitivity about the chance of a prosecution for blasphemy in its original run - far more so than worries over the Sutcliffe sketch in my opinion.

Several bits and bobs have been cencored, including "No room at the inn" being missing, as is the "He farted on my balls" and the incredibly odd cencorship of "blowjob" in the original transmission of Decline.

Basically, anything which connects sex or violence in a religious context has been cut.

It's been so long since I have seen it - is all the stuff you mention above present on the DVD release?

Quote from: "BJB"i like the idea that the censorship became part of the joke, esspecialy near the end.
"come on (beep) your obivously (beep) (beep) your a big (quack)"

Again, I don't even remember this at all.  Is it censored on the DVD?  Is it present at all? - I've read lots of stuff regarding different edits of BE, I'm hugely confused.

Speaking of the censoring of Ted Maul's 'cunt', I'm sure one of the rowdy people uses that word during the opening of 'Decline'.

BJB

Your right. at the beginning of decline it sounds like "spunky little cunt".

Yup.  It's semi-disguised by all the other shouting, but it's definitely there.

The 'beep' stuff is definately on the DVD.

BJB

The scene where morris invades the church in decline. His line "the question tonight" sounds overdubbed.

SOTS

I just bought a new copy of the DVD to replace the old one (which I bloody lost) and unfortunately it's being a bit shit.

Almost every time I select an episode it comes up with the 2001 special.

Has anyone else had this problem?

(sorry, probably not the right thread for this.)

BJB

Seeing as everyone was taiking about gina mcaee i'll add another anal observation. In the sex episode, during the admirals riff aganist gay people, gina looks like shes trying not to laugh. wow another out of charachter moment similar to morris fluffing in decline.

Morrisfan82

I always took her expression to be her coming round to the Army guy's way of thinking.

BJB

well im not 100% sure. Thats what i thought at first.

Yep.

The "No room at the inn" is in the Crime episode when the American ministers are talking about being armed - it's a sort of overdubbed cartoon section.

The "Farted on my balls" is the news piece similar to the one about the vision of Christ from the Radio one show - it's back in Decline.

Waldo Jeffers

I find it very odd that he decided to change that bit. 'Shoved the sun up his arse' is so much better.

Yeh, it happens on mine. When I select the 'sex' episode sometimes the 'drugs' episode begins, and vice versa. Or sometimes it just goes back to the title screen.

The bit in 'animals' where it zooms in and then cuts at the last minute is deliberate isn't it? It looks too obvious to be unintentional.

Thankfully the bloke I bought it from on eBay wasn't bothered about me sending it back and giving me a refund, so at least i've got enough money to buy yet another copy.

Purple Tentacle

"All part..of God's holy cannon" was much funnier than "No room at the Inn".

There, I said it.

BJB

Now im just wondering, are those scenes with David Jatt in  the title sequence from Torque Tv? I am yet to see any transcripts or anything. I heard SOTCAA had one but i cant find it anywhere.

Morrisfan82

There's a lot of stuff in the titles that wasn't used at all in the series.

Torque TV (55 Mb Real file), originally shared by SOTCAA.
