Soulseek problem: altering ports for firewall

I've got US Robotics ADSL gateway (ADSL modem/router) with a built-in firewall that can't be turned off. Some downloads from Soulseek don't work presumably due to firewall/port conflict. Can ports used by Soulseek be modified within Soulseek??

found a great website called www.portforward.com to help open ports, it has virtually every make of router and how to open their ports. with soulseek i think you have to open ports 2234 & 5534.
