I have no idea if you've been through this before but:

In the course of my job, I have to look at this here Indian media industry website:

http://www.exchange4media.com/main.asp

I know there's content in the somewhere but I'm buggered if my rotating eyes will let me read it.

Surely this must be the worst website design in the world? Eh? EH?

George Oscar Bluth II

This was linked from here a few weeks ago: http://www.peacehavencouncil.co.uk/

It's a work of crackpot genius, probably cooked up on Microsoft Front Page '97 or something. Their address scrolling left to right  so you can't read it is a particular highlight.

Al Tha Funkee Homosapien

beast tube. Don't search for it or go anywhere near it. It is too horrifying for words. But I suppose you were talking about worst designed not content. My Space whilst being very popular, although that is declining, is pretty horribly designed, hard to navigate and the customised web templates some people are allowed to use on it are awful.

excellent example! look at the picture of the mayor on this page http://www.peacehavencouncil.co.uk/page3.html

P K Duck

The annual report is unreadable too.

Metal Mikki?! Heresy!

SOTS

The areas with the midi music and the horrid, ancient looking backgrounds are quite hard to put up with. I mean ones like this... http://www.snopes.com/horrors/horrors.asp?music=on

Don't forget the 700Kb tiny image on this page.

I almost feel like making them a new site out of pity.

SOTS

Never mind that, what an AWFUL room to get married in.

Chortle.

I also love some of the pages that site links to. Especially www.peacehaven.co.uk which features the following astonishing claim:

QuoteGlobal warming, I love ya!

The Peacehaven Channel is shortly to become the new Sussex Riviera. Property prices will go sky high. Hold on to your hats folks, we'll soon be ruling the world!!

...or getting swept out into the English Channel by 30-foot tidal waves. Yeah! Peacehaven! The New Atlantis!

katzenjammer

Anything with a large flash content is usually a bit poo, and anything where they try to be too clever.

http://www.freitag.ch/
www.crumpler.co.uk

These two sites get right on my tits but some people seem to love this sort of thing.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

We're all on broadband now Grandad. Flash content is fine! (As long as the layout of the site doesn't obstruct the content)

Neville Chamberlain

And what in blooming crikey is this all about?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Claude the Racecar Driving Rockstar Super Sleuth

I think the Empire website is far too cluttered looking, with things being repeated loads of times on the front page. Having said that, it's easy enough to navigate, so I suppose it's not badly designed as such.
http://www.empireonline.com/

Edit: that's Empire the film magazine, not some Star Wars related fansite. Although you'd be forgiven for mistaking it for one most of the time.

Hee hee! I just had to change my avatar in honour of Peacehaven's steaming turd of a web site, but I can see that animated GIF getting very annoying very quickly.

The Empire website IS shit because I registered and it still won't let me log in. (I generally don't visit there for anything other than online competitions.)

I have shamelessly nicked your astonishingly crap idea!

Very good, sir...although in the end I conceded and converted mine to a static GIF image. I think it still evokes a satisfactory level of craptitude, though. Marvellous!

Neville's shoes scare me. They're tapping in time to the music on my headphones.

Uncle TechTip

Don't link directly to their pictures, they might be crap at commissioning websites but they don't deserve to have their bandwidth allowance gradually eroded by internet drooling and LOLz. The good people of Peacehaven will end up paying for your fuckery!

Bit slow, isn't it? What are you listening to? Roger Miller's 'King Of The Road'?

Already fixed, bud, but thanks for the heads up.

Ha, came in here to link to Peacehaven again and it seems I'm long beaten to the punch. It really is a steaming turd of a s(h)ite, it practically kills the thread.

It's certainly a corker, but this site scores highly for obnoxious backgrounds and content. (Don't worry, it's just a Christian site, not dead dog porn or anything).

EDIT: Ha ha! I just noticed the fake Internet Explorer security bar thing at the top of the screen. Cheeky Christian bastards.

Mr. Bleaney

The little people at the bottom of this site who move about are very annoying, and somewhat freaky

Lorks - don't these people look at their own site after designing them? Just for one second, why don't they put themselves in the shoes of their visitors and actually try reading the content? It's impossible.

Egyptian Feast

http://www.aintitcool.com/

Truly, truly godawful. One of the ugliest websites I've ever seen, but the content is really something else. Check out this disgusting review of Blade 2, but keep a bucket close by:

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/11793

"Blade 2 was just pussy-licking. Hellboy is deep dicking!"

*Shudder*

Bloody hell that's violent!  It's like they're trying to strobe you into submission/salvation.... whatever they call it

Catalogue Trousers

This one nearly traumatised me when I first saw it. Once again, perfectly safe for work, no pr0n or dismembered bodies here nosirreebob, just pure, Lovecraftian cosmic nausea...
