Christ, I know Scorpions had some dodgy album covers but I'd forgotten all about that.... wow.

I've never actually seen a real copy of the album with that sleeve first hand.  It's always in discussions like this.  I believe that the fairly recent Japanese repressing of the CD (in vinyl replica type packaging) restores the offending artwork.

No they changed the cover to this.

That in itself is pretty bad, but nowhere near as bad as the original artwork and on a lesser level.

Did the Mighty Boosh design that shite?

Those men look pretty disgruntled about having to live with lesbians. Buddum-tish!!

Haha, that's ridiculous! Doin what thangs?! The A-Trak one is also appallingly silly.

Can you see how it influenced the Sgt Pepper cover?

Tokyo Sexwhale

That Beatles album cover is meant to be bad though - it's a protest about their American record company "butchering" their British albums.

I always hated this one. It looks like the cover for a holiday brochure.

This thread is called "Is this the worst album artwork ever?" I was thinking the cover for New Orders last album would be mentioned or something simiarily uninspired

Most of the album covers in this thread are are just plain disturbing. Some thought has gone into them - but it was thought produced by clearly disturbed individuals.

With that in mind:

Hahahaha!!

I could be wrong, but I think HMV or somewhere like that may have had a prob with the Margin Walker cover when it was released. Apparently, a HMV manager fainted when he saw the original cover of Carcass' Symphonies Of Sickness (Or maybe it was Reek Of Putrifaction?).

Looks like Graham Garden has performed under a stage name:

Famous Mortimer

Always good to see Heino again, one of the creepiest humans ever to lay down on vinyl:

Doesn't that fit the whole theme of the album though? Same vein as the sleeve photos.

No, that's Dennis Potter - the Folk Years.

Rock that thing...

Quick guide to album cover design. Stick of glue, a child's scrapbook, Polaroid snapshot, Letraset...sorted.

The warders from SCUM had their own cabaret group once...

'Sole' music, perhaps?

The Argus

This is pretty awful and I actually like the album:

Edit: Awful missunderstanding of internet.

Lee Van Cleef

You know those Norwegian black metal bands have some hilarious album covers.  Immortal had a sense of humour about it but they still made bad album covers.

This is either the best or the worst.  I can't quite decide:
