Marvin

Ha, this is my fault. We were talking about those 'bring back the nun watching porn' tags and I suggested why not just go the whole hog and bring back Comic Sans.

Neil

Heh, was avoiding using your name Marvin in case you'd get a lynching :-)  Very amused by this comment in the shoutbox:

i can't read this shit. *closes tab*

Heh.  Will switch it back later, got to go out again and do some stuff first.

Marvin

Oh yeah, umm, it was the other Marvin what did it!

He's punishing you all. So whatever wrongness you've all been up to, learn.

Milo

Comic Sans MS is meant to be one of the easiest fonts for people with dyslexia to read, according to one of my old lecturers. He proved it in tests.

Neville Chamberlain

Bah! It's gone back to the boring font again. Now it just looks like everyone's speaking with a John Major voice rather than a Joe Pasquale voice.

I don't think I was calling myself weekender at that point (I probably had a hilarious 'Morris' name), and a Google search hasn't brought about anything else fruitful.  I remember that 'Glebe's Thrift Funnel' was quite the Chris Morris resource at that point - would that be the same Glebe that now posts here?

Here is the birth of the monster we have come to know and as weekender.  From the very first VerbWhores thread:

Good effort! One question though - what's with the Christ Nob glue and stuff - Morris quotes (obviously), but how and why are they different? And can I choose my own? Or would that be me being too far too fussy after all your work getting this board to work (and all the other effort you put into this site - which I hope a lot of people apprectiate, cos I do - getting stuff like the helium incident is a great effort, even though it seems to have been on some radio quiz thing you happened to be listening to on an idle Saturday afternoon - when are you getting the original master tapes??? *joking*)

Cheers

Weekender (I thought Andy sounded a bit dull, and its a decent tune)

rudi

He's right - it is a decent tune.

And Andy's a rubbish name, so he did well there...

Nice to hear "nuthead" Bill from Weston Super Mare from the NKC compilation tape again in the 2/2/90 show, over.

Neil

Hahaha yes, he's great!

"Wombles."

I wondered if Morris was referencing that VLS bit, could just be a coincidence though.

titmouse

I (uh) listening to (uh) Chris (uh) Morris (uh) as I (uh) type this...

I must say that, although I might be generally 'mong brained' in bringing this up here, I must say it is most 'heart-cacking' and 'soul wretching'  to try and re-download the Blue Jam series here and finding nothing has been seeded and no suitable 'verbwhores'...or any other kind of whores seem to be online to offer their services. Which makes me very moist in the general vicinity of my eye ducts....

I downloaded all the series from this fabulous site about a year ago, not particularly announcing myself because I can sometimes suffer from a certain 'social mind funk sputum' but, as you can probably tell by my incessant 'Jammage' (which is causing a lot of 'damage' to sentence structure as well as making the eyes bleed) I am quite a big Morris fan. I used to watch him on The Day Today when I was about 14, and make all my friends sit and watch it as well. I remember I used to find it hysterical, as at the time I had only vaguely realised the inanities that news reporting could reach, but never had it so ruthlessly exposed. The second I found out about Jam, and that it was being done by Morris, I stayed up all night to see it, and thought it was pure disturbing 'mind fudge'. I literally 'spooged by humour pituitary gland till it raped itself and climbed out of a five story window, only to pick itself up...climb up five stories... and do it again...'

Ahem...anyway...all this reminiscing is leading to the main point that I would like to say thank you to the administrator of this site (Neil...I think?) and an other contributors for making Blue Jam, and other Morris memorablelia available ( Blue Jam is even better than the t.v series. The monologues are classic! But of course...you already know that...) But...due to my own level of 'chronic brain shit sod apeing fruitsacking bonobo bummery' I damaged the hard drive of my laptop in a move and, of course, made no back up discs or anything! So I have lost all my Morris resources!!! As well as quite a few good episodes of South Park, Family Guy and god knows how much music....

You may think this 'cloth frunking synapse waving spaz' who doesn't back up his files deserves all he gets...but I would love it if someone could make their Blue Jam files available, as they are genius and I would love them back on my laptop again. It would be going to someone who appreciates it...and (despite, in the past, my not making customary greetings and thanks for my prize as etiquette demands) I am not one of these arseholes who just leeches and pisses off. I seeded my copy for days after I downloaded it. And on and off afterwards...in fact it was one of the few charitable things I did all year (though I suppose in reality it should be a matter of course)

Hmmmm....this has been a rather long 'wailing wall of wank' but if anybody out there can provide a torrent for me I would be grateful...I suppose I could have just simply said 'someone help me download blue jam'...but then you would have all missed out. And it has been a bit of a shit week, compounded by the fact I dont have my favorite ear candy to feast upon, having to make do with the scraps discarded off other peoples tables on Youtube. So I thought 'who better to understand the ravings of a spaced out and twunted mini drone like me, than a couple of other Morris-heads who might be similarly affected if their shit was taken down and messed with in front of their very eyes by the small, dirty, children of fate...

Anyway...peace out...and keep up the Good work there chaps and Glory Packers! Twuntedape salutes you!

Twuntedape

Thank you very much sir. My prepostating verbilaging semi-conscious femininity will wander up to you right now and give your techno-cratic crevices a good kissing. At least...I would...if it weren't a bit gay...just have to settle for relieved handshake and a very hearty slap on the back I'm afraid...

weirdbeard

Just testing to see how this looks, in case anyone sees.  More to come - and in better quality too I think.

Uuurgh, you spammer! I'm not replying to you

Johnnnn

Is there any mention of the Cd release of On The Hour here yet?

It's out in a few weeks on Warp. (see onthehour.info)

I was wondering if anyone knows if it will be the original broadcast or the edited one that was re-broadcast years later.

wherearethespoons

Hello Johnnnn, there's a thread about it here; http://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=17471.0

I'm not sure if anybody knows whether it will be the original broadcast or the edited version.
