Oooh, Nick Caves version of Bedazzled sends shiver down my spine. I can't seem to find it though...annoyingly.

Pedant that I am, it's actually Anita Lane's version with Cave doing backing vocals – think the only release was a b-side to one of her singles, together with a cover of J'taime.

While the voice is no more conventionally pretty than Armstrong's, there's a brilliant cover version of "All The Time In The World" on the Shaken And Stirred album with Iggy Pop on vocal. Better than the original, I'd say - and from the same album, Pulp's "All Time High" effortlessly pisses all over the bland Rita Coolidge version.

Good call!

That's not a reference to his version of Shivers, by any chance?

Ahh, such memories... first time I heard the original was when watching Dogs In Space.... cheers for posting that... where/when recorded?

On scarcely anyone could a mullet look so triumphant.

I'm going to guess that the version I supplied came from the 'Murderous Ends, Collaborative Odds' bootleg, as described here, in which case it was recorded in London, 4/5/95

Just had a real 'Jive Bunny' moment on Radio 2, when I thought The Moody Blues' 'Go Now' started... turned out to be fucking cunting Simply Red with the most awful MOR tacky version ever. Eurgh.

EDIT: Fuck, I wanted the 'worst' thread. Oh well.

Cave looked bloody fantastic back then, like nobody was ever going to mess with him.  Doesn't look so good these days.  I think he needs to do something about the receding hairline and bad 'tache.

Whenever I go to Brighton/Hove, I like to keep a look out for tall people with bad 'taches and suits that smell like fags incase they're Nick Cave out for a stroll.

Don't get it, Jemble.  Something I missed?
