I love all you people

You have spectacuarly got the wrong forum and the wrong thread. Multimongia for creativity..... and as a friendly word of advice, it's usually best to post for a bit on the site before spamming your own site.... rejection can be pretty nasty, and people WILL tell you to fack orf if you just promote your own stuff.

What IS the latest news on the AI DVDs?

It's going ahead, after Armando's finished rescoring the episodes.

Which will be when? Any ideas? Terrific news though, thank you.

In exactly 169 hours, 34 minutes, and 6 seconds. Sorry, I don't know.

Only for a sitcom about a house full of Scouse vampires.

What about The Stupid Version, I'd buy that if it were out on DVD.

What about a televised version of the 9-11 Special as well?

well?

moulesfrites

I'd still love to see AI Shows on DVD, but it's been a right long time now eh? I don't suppose anyone knows any more...

The Mumbler

Just maybe, Thick Of It might be the catalyst for its release...

I loved this show when it was out and until I downloaded it from uknova last week I'd never seen it repeated. God its really really good. The morality episode is probably the best 25 minutes of comedy I've seen, with the vicar that everyone falls in love with and 164mph being the safest speed to drive (163mph just being completely dangerous).

moulesfrites

yeah, that episode is fried gold. there are real, bona fide nuggets of philosophical wisdom in the AI Shows, dressed in the garb of surreal comedy. is there any more of it on nova?

"Our work defines who we are. When people ask us 'what do you do?', we say 'i'm a postman' or 'i'm a bus conductor', not 'i get home late and watch repeats of Buffy The Vampire Slayer while eating cold spring rolls over a carpet stained with tears'."

all the shows are up on uknova, though not the best video quality, still very watchable and completely ace

Gaah, I can't rejoin UK Nova, they're telling me it's not for public use. I used to be a member , and had a good rating, but ever since the server went down (or whatever the problem was) a few months ago I;ve been unable to sign in. It's a bit galling as just before that I'd just got an email saying I'd got new privelidges  for being a lovely sharey chap, or summat.
Damn, I want to see these shows again, they were brilliant. Bring on the DVD, pleeease!

There's supposed to be an update in the next day or two.  Really nice file going up.  which will kick off a series of equally lovely files.  Dunno what to say though, Chris Morris is dreadful now, and I know people are bored of us saying that.  Plus I personally hate the site and forums now and don't really want anything to do with them to be honest.  And I still don't know how we're going to host the new files, but I at least have more bandwidth so can torrent them a bit more effectively.

Neil

On a happier note, they're really really really great files, and hopefully people will love them.  There are throwaway lines that have far more ingenuity and originality than any of that Barley stuff.  It all just appeared to be effortless for him back then, which has to be why he eventually ended up being in a position where people could call his worst work "genius."  The sad thing is that even Morris seems to believe the hype now.  I'm sure too that people will be trying to diminish the old stuff in order to make the new stuff seem better than it actually is.  Yadda yadda yadda, I'm just an obscurist.

Damn Neil, your last two posts are the saddest things I've read in a long time.  For a whole variety of reasons.

So, um, cheer up. People really do appreciate all your good work.

An update? On Cook'd and Bomb'd?! Weeeeeell, I'd better pull up a chair, this should be a goodun.

I'll hazard a guess... is it some No Known Cure/GLR stuff? Whatever, looking forward to it.
