Ladies and their make-up

Why do so many women refuse to leave the house without make-up on? I don't get it. Most ladies still look nice without it, anyone agree/disagree?

I have a lady-friend who absolutely refuses to believe she looks in any way attractive without it. There must be an arguing until I'm blue in the face joke in there somewhere. Anyway, she'll never believe me. Can be quite frustrating, in all honesty. Still, whatever makes her more comfortable. I'll never quite get my head round it though.

Women of the world, seriously, you look nice without it too. Lovely and natural and lady-like. Bloody beautiful in a lot of cases!

And as for those who put on far too much make-up, well let's not start on that eh? I saw a young lady yesterday who looked like she'd smeared semolina on her face with a paint-brush. Horrific.

If I had a face like a dolphin I know I would be.

I agree. A lot of them look absolutely ridiculous all dolled up, like slaggy clowns. They always, without exception look better without makeup. Makeup, false nails, fake tan, hair extensions, belly flattening pants, wonderbra. Once they get all that off I'm surprised there's anything left.

It's the only thing most women have in common also. Gives them something to talk about, swapping tips etc. This comment may get me into hot water but it's the same for most men with football. If men have nothing in common, they often resort to discussing the match.

Why do women wear make-up and perfume?
Because they're ugly and they stink.

At my last job, there was this young woman who had the most hilarious blusher.  It was proper neon red and all over her cheeks, she looked like she'd been raspberry Tango'd.  Unfortunately, the first time I saw her I burst out laughing, in her face as it were and had to endure two months of her dirty looks and my poorly suppressed giggles.  Before you ask, she didn't have roseca or anything, she just had classic Irish colouring which she was doing a very bad job of concealing.  The silly cow.

Why did Elizabeth Arden?
Because Max Factor.

I don't get it. Has Elizabeth got a cock?

Fixed. :)

Mark Lawrenson is massively intelligent. Bewilderingly so.

Spoiler alert

You'll not see a lad like that wearing makeup.

"Harden" has other definitions, such as to become accustomed to something through repeated subjection.

If you prefer...

Why did Nivea Cream?
Because Max Factor.

There's some joke that has the punch line 'because William Shatner', but I can;t for the life of me remember it.

Loose Women have said all there is to say on this subject already.

"Why was Uhura the only brown person on the Enterprise?"

edit: Damn you!

*not racist either, btw. I have a black friend.

ThickAndCreamy

On around 99% of occasions most women look better without any makeup in my eyes. I seriously can't comprehend how women that have basically chucked makeup on their face that would look awful without it.

biggytitbo

I actually think its funnier without the set up. It's one of those jokes where you only need the punchline. 'Because William Shatner', 'Because Max Faxtor' etc.

I think guys would complain if we didn't make some sort of effort.  Are you honestly telling me that you'd rather I didn't bother and you had to look at the imperfections all day.  Basically, if there's a blemish or a spot or whatever, we'd rather it was covered up.   Plus, a lot of women do look shit without it.

Lets see a before and after photo.

Captain Crunch

The only way round it is to stop shagging women who wear make-up, like a reverse Lysistrata.

El Unicornio, mang

I like a bit of it, some eyeliner, a spot of lipstick. It's when they go overboard, caking on foundation with gaudy eye shadow that it looks nasty.

Would I be wrong in assuming that a lot of spots, rashes and other 'imperfections' are actually caused by wearing make-up? So you end up in an endless cycle of having to cover up spots and whiteheads caused by blocking your pores with foundation?

squinky

The funny thing is, I tend to be self-conscious about wearing make-up because I've never really figured out how to apply it properly. I think it's some sort of variation on the 'I'm scared of failing and therefore I shan't try at all' attitude.

Also, since I never leave the house, I'm deathly pale and can't find a foundation that's light enough for me. Which is okay because I never leave the house for long enough for anyone to look at me.

What's wrong with looking at imperfections though? We have to live with imperfections don't we?  There's nowt wrong or unattractive about a few spots and blemishes, the catwalk fashion magazine appearances porn mentality is really unhealthy.

I read statistics which said that about 1/4 of women actually prefer men with spots, not sure that the reverse is true, mind.

Wa-HEY! Form an orderly queue, ladies. One at a time please. Well, two if you insist. I might just postpone my plans for a healthy diet and some exercise after all.
