I thought it would be interesting to have a thread on everyones latest gadget / electronic related buys as after a brief search I couldn't see anything like it in Picture Box.

So I just bought some Denon AH-D2000 headphones for use on my PC. I've imported them from the USA and can't bloody wait till I can use them, highly recommended and pretty much the best pair of headphones you can use with my PC without needing to buy an amp.

Also I've just bought an Auzentech X-fi Prelude for my PC to go with the Denons, pretty much the best soundcard you can buy for quality that is not extremely high in price. However at about £110 their still pretty expensive and it's hard for me to easily justify the purchase except that I will use the same card probably for the next 10 or so years hopefully and it will hopefully be heaven to my ears along with some FLAC and the D2000's.

So.. anyone else bought any electronics of interest as of late.

I have the HTC Kaiser, TYTNII, MDA Vario III or whatever it's called and have been extremely underwhelmed by it.  On paper it knocks spots off the Iphone but in reality the touchscreen is shite and difficult to see, making fairly fundamental things, such as making a call whilst outside on a sunny day, a right pain in the arse.  Oh, and HTC didn't bother including video drivers so the 'rich multimedia experience' promised is actually bollocks.  Although I doubt they will make this mistake twice.

The HTC Touch being shit is a disappointment, the pre-release stuff looked amazing. The Sony Ericsson XPeria X1 might well deliver where HTC have failed though.



As for gadget purchases I guess my new PC headphones count, right l33t they are...



The Cyber Snipa 5.1 headset is insanely comfortable, has superb sound (I'm not exactly an audiophile mind) and the mic is great for games and VOIP.

I chose this one because I wanted a qwerty keyboard (bye-bye predictive text) and it was "free". It's basically an iPhone clone and mine has already been mistaken for one, which was amusing as I'd never pay... well, anything for a contract phone, never mind £99.

Cheers for the heads up katzenjammer, is disapointing new though. My current phone is a badged by Cingular HTC phone with Windows mobile 5. Has a full  keyboard which is nice but the unit itself looks dated (especially after the arrival of the iPhone) and the interface is naff !!
