Yes, yes everyone knows the Amelie soundtrack is superb but there's a lot to be said for his other recordings.  La Valse des Monstres and Le Phare are great albums.  A lot of the best tracks deceptively simple but when you really listen to them the musicianship and layering is incredible.  For me, listening to Tiersen's music adds something ( a certain I don't know what) to even the most mundane environs - being transported by Le Fromveur while squiring Your Mum with my pork sword, for example.

Le Compteur is my favourite instrumental, and here it is for those who give a shit:
