Ever used that 'Genius' thing in Itunes? By some algorithm or other (via the Itunes store), it'll put together a playlist 'based' on a chosen track -- try 'Highway to Hell' and you'll get a lot of hard rock and more 'old-fashioned' heavy stuff, for example, with a few left-fielders in there. Can have some neat/amusing results, and it's a bit more interesting than what ordinary shuffle comes up with. Has a tendency to put the Pistols' "God Save The Queen" into every list though, which is a bit bizarre when the list basis was, say, Ann Peebles...

Itunes gets a lot of reflexive complainers, but I switched to it after winamp mysteriously stopped working one or two computers ago, and the library focus of it is a godsend compared to that winamp mess. It probably doesn't help that my winamp-using buddies are the most disorganised people on the planet, so I've unfairly come to think of locating and playing a song in Winamp as more of an arcane fuckaround than it really is, but whatever; if I want a song in Itunes, there it is. That said, the inability to enqueue tracks with a keystroke IS an insane deficiency of Itunes (that fiddly fucking 'Party Shuffle' does NOT count).
