In general there are quite a few reasons for people to think others are 'sexy'.
Some have history that elicits certain ideas. I think Kelly Brook's appeal is from her original sexy bra ad times and being the breakfast masturbatory temptation.
Some people just fancy because they're told to. Plain girls with nothing special going for them get tarted up and famous and suddenly; "she's so hot". You may disagree but I'll cite Girls aloud and Hayden Panettiere (sp) from Heroes.
I have no idea about Beckinsale, the fact that she has the charisma of a plank puts me off her (Kelly Brook too)
