It features interview snippets with the people that were there at the time inventing this stuff and loads of great breaks/rhymes. Proper old-school! If you're interested in a copy PM me.

 Thanks, check out the electro thread as well for more old school discussion, one name that keeps cropping up is that of Disco King Mario, one of the pioneers of the block parties,who famously leant Afrika Bambaataa his first set of decks. Disco King Mario sadly never got a record deal and sadly passed away before the resurgence of interest in Old School Hip-hop that saw many of the first wave,such as Prince Whipper Whip and Grandmaster Caz (aka Casonova Fly) finally get recognition and paid in full.

Hopefully a bootleg of one of his block parties will one day surface




BTW you should be able to pick up a copy of the DVD Scratch, which explores the Turntablism subculture fairly cheaply on play or HMV, Scratch - The documentary
