I like that.  I get the impression she's talking to someone off-canvas and either the conversation is so interesting that she doesn't stop to pose, or else she's telling whoever it is to shut up so she can.  Most portraits don't seem to have energy in them, but this one does.

In my haste to upload I didn't make sure it was fully finished. I managed to get the eye colour wrong. This one is better quality, too:

Lots of lovely art, but how about some crafts?

A couple of fuzzy images of stained glass windows I designed and made:

window

door

I'll try to find better images.

Koant

And how about non-arty craft?
Here is a trebuchet, made off a vegetable crate this week-end:

It works fairly well, but is only useful for besieging very small castles.

Kishi the Bad Lampshade

I don't suppose I should ask why you made a trebuchet?

Koant

With the end of civilization coming on, one is never too prepared!

A combination of things really:
. I wanted to build something.
. I had a spare crate.
. Trebuchets are fascinating! Get one now!

Cerys

Are you going to build a warwolf next?  Go on go on go on.

Koant

hmm, I'm gonna need a bigger crate.

Self Portrait Aged 17. Oil on Canvas.

I painted this without a palette: straight from the tube.

Cerys

Were you an angry teenager, by any chance...?

Retinend

I painted that yesterday.

Cerys

Are you an angry teenager, by any chance...? ;)

It is pretty angsty, isn't it? It honestly just turned out that way, although I am feeling a little angsty.

The Plaque Goblin

And nothing like Marge Simpson.

'Birdskull and Blossom'. Oil on Canvas again.

Cerys

I love the way the base of the skull almost mirrors the flowers.

60x70cm, Oil on Canvas - 'Anna P'

I not mad on this one. I think it's technically competent, but it's a very prosaic image. I wanted it to be more... expressive, but I lost confidence.

I do like the nose, though.

I purchased a tripod between this one and t'others

Cerys

She looks perturbed.  Surprise buttsecks?

Kishi the Bad Lampshade

I have much envy for Retinend's talent. You're right to be proud of that nose.

Retinend

Kishi - Thanks a lot!

Cerys - you're about the forth person to tell me that. I've made some changes (lips and eyes) to make the expression more neutral:

The eyes are a bit dead. It's those motes which are a bit tricky to get right (at least for me). Luckily it's quite easy to redo until you get it right. Still - I think this is an improvement. She looks like she's leaning forward weirdly, but that's to do with the angle I photographed it at (honestly).
