But in the epilogue Ben says its just the warehouse and the Lamp-post that remain. (i think thats what he said anyway) How did the Hanso foundation come to give up on the Dharma Initiative?
Then again, seeing as I'm calling folk idiots if they dont get the polar bear thing, maybe that side of it is just as obvious to some. But as one writer just said, its not so much that Lost explained stuff, its just that some of the answers were so dull.

Well I'm with you on that. The cages showed they were being experimented/trained then Charlotte found one skeleton in the tunisian desert. Job done. Though in a related note...
Very unimpressed with the
Spoiler alert
Pierre Chang explanation. I really thought the Marvin Candle name would be more than an alias and he'd be his own clone from a time shift experiment (as seen with the rabbits in a youtube clip). BUT well done to the writers for subtley explaining why Chang/Candle only has one arm

in some vids

Didn't they show how Chang lost his arm in the actual series? In the Series 5 finale during the Incident, his arm got crushed as all the metal was getting sucked in to the ground.

Then again, in a few days they are auctioning off EVERYTHING
http://www.profilesinhistory.com/lost-the-auction.html

Wow, they really are getting rid of the lot, aren't they. I'd kill for some of the stuff in those auctions, and not just Kate's clothes. To take part you have to pay the auctioneers $500, which you get back if you haven't won anything. Sadly, I don't have that much money right now and there doesn't seem to be anything going for less than $200. Mind you, stuff will eventually pop up on eBay, I'm sure.

Ja'moke

What's $200 in pounds, about £120? I reckon I can spare that, but I want something decent for that price. Any suggestions?

Small Man Big Horse

Locke's orange from the first episode.

That or one of the blue Dharma mini-buses. I could put on even more weight, grow my hair straggly, and we could drive around freaking people out.

Two hundred odd quid for a used plastic water bottle? Man, some of these auctions are really taking the piss! http://www.profilesinhistory.com/items/season-6/oceanic-bottle-used-by-jack-to-transfer-power-to-hurley.html

Edit: And the same amount for a bit of wood! http://www.profilesinhistory.com/items/season-6/pair-of-wooden-sticks-whittled-by-locke/man-in-black.html

Ja'moke

Yeah some of those are ridiculous. I want something recognisable from the show, and distinct, not just a plastic bottle that you could buy for 50p and create your own label!

Locke's suicide note to Jack would be kinda cool, but that'll go for quite a bit I'd have thought. Or something totally off-the-wall like this http://www.profilesinhistory.com/items/season-5/boar-carried-by-locke/man-in-black.html

Small Man Big Horse

Heh, I do quite like the boar, but I would insist upon you bringing it to every CaB meet.

The Time Shifting Frozen Wheel's not that expensive and is fairly cool - out of the (admittedly few) auctions I've seen so far if I had the money I'd get that - http://www.profilesinhistory.com/items/season-4/island-time-shifting-frozen-wheel.html

Edit: That or Ben's secret door - http://www.profilesinhistory.com/items/season-5/bens-secret-door/wall-with-hieroglyphics.html

chocky909

I wouldn't pay too much attention to those estimates. I'll bet they've put low estimates on some juicy items to tempt people to join the auction.

I want Shannon's death costume. http://www.profilesinhistory.com/items/season-2/shannons-death-costume-from-the-episode-collision.html for totally perverted reasons.

JesusAndYourBush

Just a heads-up that a 12 min epilogue (called "New Man In Charge") to the final episode has been leaked which answers some questions, although not major ones.  You'll find it at the usual places, or send me a pm if you're having trouble finding it.

JesusAndYourBush

Ah sorry.  I dipped into this thread the other day and people were talking about the auction, then I was told today that the footage had just leaked, came to the thread and read the last few posts and people were still talking about the auction.  My bad.

Ja'moke

I was working at the weekend and forgot all about it!

GTFOH!

That's unbelievable. Its not like its a first edition with annotations and footnotes about Kate's underwear or scribblings actually seen in the show (like Faraday's journal). its just a fucking book! They could have got it for a couple of quid from a second hand shop and spent the rest on gas masks and mock Dharma jumpsuits for an Othersville themed gangbang.

HappyTree

I have a bag of Terry O'Quinn's toenail clippings from just before the scenes he filmed in the Hatch. Starting price on Ebay $7000.

Ginyard

I'll trade you the lot for a lock of his hair.

I'm sure they thought it was cute, but it's a very smug, annoying gag.
"Haha. We screwed up big time". "We deliberately messed up the ending, and you guys fell for it"

I didn't see it like that, I just thought it was self-deprecating.

Yeah, that's a really shitty thing to do. Even the creators know they blew it and they think they can just yuck it up with us now?

wheatgod

Haha those crazy Lost creators and their hilarious in jokes!!!!

Custard

I'd still quite like them to just come out and say "That last season was a balls-up, we messed up bigtime. Sorry bout that. Shall we just pretend it never happened, and re-do the whole season again?"

I reckon the vast majority of fans would happily go for that.

Or more seriously, a 2 hour one-off, exploring the history of the island, the light, how it got there etc. Would be so satisfying.

I disagree, and really don't want to play along with their bullshit, last-season-wasting crap. Well, not just the last season, but you get what I mean.

Nothing, it's just a joke.

pk1yen

I really liked that. I just can't feel any animosity towards LOST - I love it (and I actually liked the ending).

SO did I. But something about this gag just rubs me the wrong way.
And I'm pretty far from the "YOU"VE RUINED MY LIFE"style fanboy, but it really put a sour taste on what I like to think of the best TV shows created
