Dark Sky

I love Vanilla Sky.  One of the few times I appreciate a shot-for-shot Hollywood remake over the original.  That might make me a bad person.

I really enjoyed doing that British Cinema module at university.  We looked at Brief Encounter, The Ladykillers, The Servant, The Pumpkin Eater, The Third Man and Don't Look Now which is I think a very nice selection.

And thinking about it, the last three films I've seen at the cinema have all been British...Four Lions, Cemetary Junction, and Kick-Ass!  That's quite fun.

I am just watching shooting the past are there any other Stephen Poliakoff films which are really stand out?

Without this thread I would have never got it, bloody good film thus far only half an hour in.

Dark Poet

Shooting The Past was brilliant and is my favourite of Poliakoff's work.  Perfect Strangers has a similar scope and feel and is definitely worth seeing too.
