Quote from: Neil on May 05, 2010, 06:22:30 PMPeter Whittle has published his review...

Wow, never heard of him before, but he's quite the fearmongering arsehole, isn't he?

Not seen this referenced on here but CM is on the cover of this week's Big Issue and there's a story inside.

Unfortunately I've not been able to find a seller so not sure what they are saying. Maybe at the weekend eh?

Here's an Empire video interview with Morris & co. I have to warn you it is presented by the possibly the unfunniest person of all time:

And here's their review and a guide to Chris Morris:

9-10am this morning had Nicky "Cunt" Campbell discussing Four Lions with callers on his phone-in on 5 Live.
A christian phoned in and didn't like it.

Seven out of seven families?  That seems a lot.

Being a mathematician, my mind automatically converted 7/7 into 1 when I saw that story.

The fuss has started:

Four Lions film boycott urged by 7/7 families

It really is quite counter-productive as calling for a boycott (which won't happen) is only going to increase the interest surrounding the film and therefore the amount of people going to see it.

Seemingly it's been featured on Nicky Campbell and all sorts today - anyone been ripping?

I'm on the ripping trip; Nicky Campbell got and Nihal from BBC Asian network done yesterday. Stay tuned.

A little nugget reported from Popbitch 06/05/2010  (so take with a pinch of salt):

"
        >> Shot down <<
        Cover idea bombs

Chris Morris' film Four Lions about British
suicide bombers is finally out tomorrow.
Morris doesn't do many interviews, but did
talk to the Guardian Weekend magazine recently.
We wouldn't expect him to do many more. This
was the Guardian's proposal to Chris for
    the cover photo shoot:

"I had this idea that we could wind people
up a little bit by photographing you dressed
as a suicide bomber yourself - maybe even
outside Westminster - with the coverline:
Chris Morris's explosive new film, or
something... I thought if we did it in
Westminster we might stir up a bit of trouble,
    what with the election etc...

"What do you think? If you're up for it,
we'd have to act quickly because these things
tend to be tricky to arrange (and may need
    permits to shoot, etc.)"

Something of a jaw-dropping proposal to send
to anyone. But to send it to the man behind
news media parody The Day Today? Gutsy."

Ok this is Kayvan Novak on Nihal's show in BBC Asian Network yesterday. This is really really good stuff, lots of chat about how he got involved with Four Lions and so on. Well worth a download.

Kermode reviews Four Lions in next 25 mins on Radio 5 Live

There's a report on Sky at the moment with cast members and "victim relative a".  I'll record it and upload it if it doesnt appear on their website.

Rotten Tomatoes is useful to keep monitoring for worldwide reviews, and an average percentage total.  So far it's a 85% after 13 reviews.

From 'Sunday' on Radio 4 last, erm, Sunday:

Author of 'Love in A Headscarf', Shelina Janmohammed reviews the film.

I'm having trouble getting the audio from BBC World Service 'The Strand'. Be interesting how they depicted the film to listeners in the Empire. Apparently BBC iplayer for BBC WS does things slightly differently. Anyhow here's the iplayer page in case anyone is cleverer than me:

Can't see a video from today on the Sky site. Could you upload anyhow please as I'm not sure how easy it is to grab video of Sky's site so it'll vanish anyhow eventually.

Fucking arse of a PVR failed to record it.

Interviews were at the same session as the previous Sky Four Lions interview but I definitely saw a bit of some victim's relative giving an opinion on it.

Here's a more balanced page with a 7/7 relative who actually has seen the film:

It's on the Podcast - massive spoilers by the way. Kermode liked it, but didn't find it that funny overall.
