It's a different type of game to the others, it's going to be action-heavy and based on hacking and slashing rather than stealth, so I don't know how much any of the plot stuff will matter. Being an action game I'm assuming it won't be as full of talking and cut-scenes, especially with Hideo being less involved in Rising and pouring his recent time into making Peace Walker.

Actually you can play it stealthily as well, sounds like you are free to choose which approach you take like the usual MGS games...

QuoteThe game isn't all hack and slash action, though. One of the first things Matsuyama cleared up in the interview is a misconception some might have had from the E3 trailer. There's more to the game than just fighting, he said. In fact, you're free to play like a more conventional Metal Gear Solid game, advancing stealthily. Those who are more confident in their action skills, however, can choose to charge right in at enemy groups.

Hmmm, really wasn't very impressed. But then, I suspect it's very hard to make an impressive trailer from portal - the graphics have never had any wow factor. Also, the GLaDos's lines where fairly rubbish box ticking mimicry of the first game.

Actually, I'm going to make an early call that Portal 2 will be a disappointment. The gameplay gimmick was already getting a bit repetitive by the end of the fairly short first game. And I'm not really sure they can get much more original, funny stuff from GlaDos.

I'm really hoping I'm wrong, though.

I do understand what you mean, when a game becomes a surprise hit it can become too...self-conscious of itself in a way.

However, the new gameplay videos look AWESOME.  Repulsion and propulsion gels, "excursion funnel", "aerial faith plate" and "thermal discouragement beam".

Still Not George

I cannot decide if the XCOM preview makes me happy or sad. Happy because it sounds like an awesome FPS; sad because, well, THE CUNTS TURNED IT INTO AN FPS!

On another note Bear Grylls has a game based around battling with his enormous ego, and it looks absolutely terrible http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2010-man-vs-wild/700856
