Does anyone on here write their own stuff?
I've been playing guitar for ages but recently I've been trying to write songs, even more recently I bought a laptop and  have rigged a few things up in order to fashion a kind of home recording studio.
I know there are probably a million other forums where this topic would be better placed, but I thought I'd bring it here first.

What set up do you use?
I'm just getting started, so I'm using Ableton live lite something with a focusrite usb interface.
Ableton lite is doing enough for me at the minute, but I'd like to add some sounds to the file library. It seems to be missing a few basic bits. I'm really after a good piano sound, and some extra drum bits. Anyone know a good site for these? Or where to start looking?

I'm also going to have a crack at drumming so I'm on the lookout for an electronic kit that I can easily add to my basic set up. Anyone have any advice?

Thanks, and peace out.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Check a little further down the thread for the Post Your Own Songs thread. And do please post your own songs.

I've found the library of sounds here very useful indeed:

http://www.freesound.org/index.php

It's great to search for the strange and the unusual- some of the loops can be a little dated, but that tends to be the case everywhere. There is good stuff there for all purposes, no doubt.

My own electronic stuff is here: http://www.last.fm/music/Jack+Anderton , singer songwritey stuff here: http://www.myspace.com/myobedienttongue

Do show us what you've been up to!

edit- sigh, sorry about that flash player...last.fm outclevering itself as usual.

Ah... The art of reading other posts...
Thanks.
I'll get something 'finished' then post.
Cheers.
