My money would be on GTAVI being set inVegas and San Fran but the GTAV single player DLC isn't going to be so big as to include whole new cities. I'm 100% certain the new GTAV DLC land mass will include the snowy North Yankton map we saw at the start of GTAV. No idea how big it is, probably not huge but big enough to give the game a bit of something extra to explore for a while.

Noodle Lizard

North Yankton seems pretty boring though - don't know what they can include there that you wouldn't find elsewhere in the game.  Snow, I guess.  Ok fine, I'll take it, but skiing/snowboarding/snowball fights plz ok.

I suppose any new area to explore is a welcome addition. I just hope its reasonably interesting. Mucking about in the countryside in GTAV is still my favourite bit of the game. It'll be interesting to see what else the single player DLC includes plus what the next gen version looks like.

Well if you're impatient for a PC version, some complete lunatics are recreating Los Santos using the GTA IV version

Haha loosers

PS4, Xbox One and PC version announced. Think a lot of people thought it was just going to be a PS4 exclusive, but looks like, Sony just put the money in to be showcasing the PS4 Footage and Get the sole credit at the revelation, which is fair dos.

Anyway, I'd be potentially interested in hopping back in for PC. Especially if the mod scene becomes as interesting as IV.

mobias

Apparently the most profound difference in the PS4/Xbone version is the object density. There's simply a lot more going on everywhere and the city is filled with people. There's also lots of new physics effects and generally much higher detailing there. It runs natively at 1080p locked at a solid 30fps. Powerful anti-aliasing filters, completely removed from the current version, have been put back in. The anti-aliasing has the biggest impact on how much better it looks. The current version is really pretty dreadful there.

We've yet to see the first big single player DLC which we all know is just around the corner. I actually thought they might announce that last night too but they're obviously saving it for another time. My understanding of it was that Sony had indeed done some sort of exclusivity deal but maybe its more tied in with the DLC.

People who like grass in their games will be pleased. Thats what this new generation of consoles is all about -  realistically rendered meadows.

Now finally got this game. Am installing the first disk (on 360). Is there still that issue with Rockstar advising me not to install the 2nd disk? Or has that been patched by now? I would prefer to install everything if poss.

Am on summer holidays now and will spend my time sitting in my room in a virtual world. Yeah baby!

Ok, late to the party and late with support questions. But I would have expected this iFruit app to have been fixed by now.

I don't like dogs much, but the dog in Fable was ok. This dog Chop is disgusting. Having searched to see if I can get rid of him, it seems not. Ok so I might as well make him useful by training him to look for stuff.

And hence my predicament. iFruit will not let me link to it. I joined the Social Club and linked my Xbox gamer tag especially for this. That all works fine. But I get the old "Failed to link your account" message in the app itself.

I've logged out, cleared cookies on my iPod, logged back in, verified e-mail address in Social Club, gone to the Microsoft site each time, re-logged in, got the OK on Safari on the Social Club site. Then I go back to iFruit and it just tells me it's failed to link again.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Literally the very next thing I did after posting this question was to press a thing and sort the problem out. So thanks, subconscious CaB. Quick service!

Just started playing this again after a bit of a break, I had to download 5 updates to be able to play. Anyone here still playing? This is my first real go at GTA5 online since custom jobs were introduced, anyone have any recommendations? There are some pretty sweet stunt race tracks that I've seen people playing on Twitch.

I've been playing it quite a bit lately actually. Had some surprisingly good skirmishes with people ranked in the 2 and 300's.

I still go into multiplayer occasionally but it still suffers from the same problem that its pretty much always suffered from in that free roam is just treated as one big death match and few people want to join in missions and races etc.  Sounds like its better if you join a crew where people actually play it properly. Rockstar put crews up that are recruiting new members on their website.

I'll probably get back into playing it when the next gen version comes out and a bit more life gets brought back to it. There's so much potential there for it to be a great online game.

Ok so who's up for a sesh?

Only joking. Or am I?
Yes.

Don' worry, homies, this nigga ain't got no online capability, dog.

So, just finished the main story. I now have to find drugs for Trevor's mum. Sadly I am not able to go back in and shoot her. Oh well.

This was a great game. Technically a masterpiece, but the best thing for me was being able to skip bits. I liked the whole story thing, the world is so engaging that the fetch missions were also fun. But I find the massive gunfights a bit of a drag so when it went on too long I could just get killed a couple of times and jump over that part.

I only really have 2 little niggles. First, I really would have liked cars to stay where I put them. I'm sure it's not that hard. When I repaint my wife's car in chrome I want it to remain chrome, and remain parked in my driveway. When I start a mission that makes me use another vehicle I want to come back and find my car where I parked it. Not because I'm particularly attached to my car, but because it sustains the realism.

Other niggle is when I'm "locked in" to a mission I can't decide to tool up in an ammo store. I wanted to drive just a little bit away to get some rockets, but was already in mission mode. Oh well, not a big complaint. When kidnapping Devin I just used grenades instead. But it would have been nice to be able to follow up a sudden realisation that I might need more ammo and/or armour.

'part from that, the variety of stuff to do was great. I'm now going to find the rest of the nuclear waste and read a FAQ to see how to get the spaceship.

Obviously the best character is Trevor. My favourite lines of his were when he insisted his name be kept on the helicopter, and when he was bickering with Michael and mimicked his voice in a silly way as a puerile dig. Lovely stuff!

did you find "scooter brothers" on your play through? christ that made me laugh. not as much as on the "jump the motorcycle onto the top of the train" mission though - i must admit i was stoned when i was attempting that, everytime i failed to land the bike properly i felt i was getting rewarded just to hear trev sing"chugga chugga chugga chugga chugga chugga chugga chugga CHOO CHOO!" again and again. it must have taken me a dozen times to finally get it right.

HappyTree

Yes I got the scooter brothers and remembered this thread the while. The train jump was fiddly but I managed to use a rail as a ramp when I missed the "proper" road jump.

I was expecting Franklin's homie to die at the end for the pathos of a brother let down by society. I was glad I could just ignore the dog. Awful thing.

I hated the hallucinatory aliens mission but did get a big laugh when it happened and Michael was like oh fuck what did I just smoke!?

After finishing the bike race with that insane woman I got Trevor to follow her around for ages. I was hoping maybe the game would reward my tenacity with some extra piece, but no she just rides around randomly and ignores me.

I did the final heist with the stingers and trucks. And the one before that I chose the fireman route. I prefer the subtle approach.

VegaLA

It looks like Sinbad and I may be blowing off the dust on this title this coming Saturday around 6PM so if you are up for it.....

I don't have a gold live thing, only the free silver one.

Ok, I've bought all the properties I can afford. Now I need 30 mil for the other cinema and 150 mil for the golf course. I better hit the net for investment tips!

Is it possible to buy houses in single player mode or is the estate agent's only for online players? I'm bored of Michael's house, Franklin's is much better. I'd also like to buy Jimmy a car and Amanda wants a beach house. I owe them some indulgences after all the crap they put up with!

Just as long as you still have quite a lot of money left and you haven't done any of the assassination missions you should be fine http://www.usgamer.net/articles/-how-to-make-the-most-out-of-gta-5s-stock-market

That one mission was the crux of all the game missions apparently. They spent forever trying to make it work and had to remake all the map areas along the side of the railway line so you could jump back up onto the train if you fell off.

HappyTree

Yeah I noticed the convenient succession of ramps :-D

Ah, too late for the assassinations. I stupidly believed Lester when he said he'd pay me from his investing. In hindsight, that was the game giving me the hint. Oh well. I have all the boats and planes and everything. I'll try to get investing by "fair" means. Still have over 5 mil per character.

Oh, I just got Scooter Brothers again :-D First time I assumed it was Trevor's speech-impediment dredded lackey, but this time I saw it's just a random guy on a scooter that he's decided to harrass. Possibly the best game character ever, with one exception. No-one will ever beat the unforgettable HK-47. "Meatbag!"

mobias

I think I read somewhere that if you save all the money you made during the storyline missions without spending a single penny of it its possible to quickly make over a billion dollars at the end simply by doing the Lester assassinations missions.
Anyway you needn't worry Happy Tree Rockstar have already said there are more assassination missions in the pipeline  as part of the upcoming DLC.
