Good show. Sniping is good. I like shooting out the tyres on cars miles away on the motorway. Amazing to watch them spin out and realise that even these unseen things are all being calculated by the game engine to be consistent and real, just in case. Either that or the illusion is done very well.

I did enjoy getting that FIB agent in the head on top of the Ferris wheel. Then just jumping into the sea.

Right since the PS2 era of games I've always regarded some of the smaller side missions much more fun that some of the more 'epic' and involved storyline missions. The assassination missions were a good example of that. Simple but fun.

That one mission was the crux of all the game missions apparently. They spent forever trying to make it work and had to remake all the map areas along the side of the railway line so you could jump back up onto the train if you fell off.

that makes sense, as i said earlier it took me a dozen attempts to land the bike on the train, in the end it felt as if the game took over in a "enough is enough you numpty, let me do that for you" kind of way. mind, i was woefully crap at controlling any vehicle that wasn't a car in the game, with helicopters being right at the top of the list, fuck i struggled with them. i came to dread any mission where i even looked like i might have to fly one of the buggers.

has there been any announcements of when the dlc is being released?

edit... had a quick google meself. seems the upcoming dlc is just online heists and poxy zombies. i'm guessing the zombies thing will be single player, but still, zombies!

turns out that zombies is the only word i've discovered to date that i can actually touchtype... zombiera.... nope,  can't do it anymore, mind four on the trot wasn't bad.

Coming up there is the first big paid for bit of DLC thats long over due for the game. When I say big its apparently huge. A whole game unto itself similar to GTAIV's Episodes from Liberty City but much more ambitious. I think it'll come as standard with the PS4/Xbone version so I think thats where I'll play it. They've been working on it a long time now so I'm expecting a lot from it. Whole new map areas amongst other stuff.

Early November is the date I'm hearing it'll be released.

mook

ah right, thanks. that sounds promising.

New free Flight School DLC comes out tomorrow. Looks great fun.

Engagdet/Joystiq claim the PC version has been delayed till 2015.

http://www.joystiq.com/2014/09/12/grand-theft-auto-5-hits-ps4-xbox-one-nov-18-pc-in-2015/

But don't give a source for this claim.

I hate this bull shit.. what utter ball bags.

mobias

One thing I can tell you is that it hasn't actually been delayed as such. The intention was always to release and promote the PC version separately from the two new console versions. Rumour has it that its partly because the PC version is so shockingly good that it puts even the new gen console versions to shame.

mobias

Is anyone here geared up for the new gen version of this? Its worth pre-ordering it as Rockstar are giving you a $1,000,000 of GTA money to spend in game if you pre-order it now. If you remember how hard GTA $ were to come by in the single player mode then its definitely worth doing. I think the PS4 version gets $1,300,000

Don't think of it just a slightly upgraded version of a game you've already played. There's a ton of new content over and above whats been already announced. Some truly huge content by the sounds of things infact. They've been working on it almost as long as the original game took to make so expect a lot. The much maligned online game sounds like its been given a huge make over with heists finally making an appearance plus a load of other new game modes. 30 player games sound like fun too with the new consoles being able to sync a lot more going on.

Onken

I'm annoyed theres no discount and at the price they've chosen. £54.99 is more expensive than the previous gen version sold for when it was released. I had two working PS3's and bought it digitally for £49.99 using 2 x £25 PSN cards from Shopto so it only worked out at £41.72. I could be logged in twice upstairs and down playing against my step dad which was nice. I'll eventually get a second PS4 so hope to do the same.

It's funny that on his PSN account he got to keep $300,000,000 while all the hacked money got taken away from mine.

I'm tempted but...want to know all the gory extra details before I commit. SimonG and myself will be returning to Los Santos for a kickabout this coming Sunday if anyone wants to join us?

hoverdonkey

I'm getting it, although November 18 is going to be an expensive day for me. GTA V, Far Cry 4 and LBP 3 are all out that day.

Up for it if you're on ps3 wooders_mcfc !

This could be linked to the San Andreas thread. Its a particularly impressive fan made map of what a San Andreas 3 city type lay out could be potentially like bolted onto the current GTA V map.

be good if that was real, wouldn't it

It would be amazing. The problem is the current game took around 500 people 3 years to make. Not all of them worked on the graphics and environment detailing mind you but a map of that size would take serious man power.

Onken

I hope the PS3 and PS4 trophies are tied. I'm not doing that scuba diving shit again looking for scrap metal.

None of the bonus stuff would further influence me getting it.

So, no casino, North Yankton or any kind of new playable area? I thought those were a shoe-in.

The stuff rockstar posted yesterday is just some of the exclusive bonus content for the new gen consoles. All the other new content will apparently be shared with the old consoles as paid for DLC.

I think when you see the new graphics and physics in action you might change your mind. Also GTA Online on the new gen consoles apparently now lives up to what the ambition was when it was first released. 30 players max and far less compromises in the games over all performance on top of a lot of new game modes that are only possible on the new machines.

Onken

I'm getting it. I just think the bonuses are not strong enough to convince anyone whose on the fence.

The noticeable drop in frame rate and lack of traffic is what stood out on the PS3.

SimonG156

Ah fuck it. Xbone version to be ordered shortly...

How about getting thirty people to design exportable modifying software and getting a bunch of fans to do it for free in no time?
It's the future guys and there are unlimited amounts of crazy arseholes with time on their hands.

Don't buy essentially the same game at face value twice, you evil Nazi fucks!

Its a nice idea and perhaps thats the way the future will go with it. They certainly seem opening the game up with GTA Online and letting players doing their own thing. Rockstar are still tightly choreographing the rest of the experience though, I still think its  a shame they won't even allow you to put your own music into the soundtrack, and the actual design of the world and the detail within it are all something I think they'll ultimately want to keep control of.

I must admit I'm surprised at them charging the full whack for it but we'll just have to see how much content there actually is. I get the impression there's an awful lot of new game, like almost as half as much again as what we got originally.

kittens

if i was loaded i'd buy it again. and a ps4 an all. can someone buy me a ps4 please
