I'd never heard of him before watching Monsieur Hire and The Hairdresser's Husband. Both of these are brilliant, colourful films about love and obsession. They're only eighty minutes long and the brevity is very effective. I also saw his film called My Best Friend, which was out more recently and is nowhere near as good, but still charming. They sent me My Best Friend's Girl with Dane Cook first time round, but they got it right in the end. Does anybody like his films and want to discuss them?
