I'm not watching any film that features Jessie J in it's soundtrack.

Well the other one I posted has music by Jim Steinman, which is probably worse (dunno why they bother putting that in the credits, you can spot it a mile off - just ask yourself "would Meatloaf be able to sing this?") so looks like I'm 0 for 2 on the soundtrack front.

Old Nehamkin

New trailer for the pirates:

It still looks ace. Stop-motion!

Famous Mortimer

Goon, an ice hockey comedy starring Seann William Scott. I think it looks absolutely brilliant from the trailer, but then I've been suckered by my fair share of them in the past.

Catch 44. A film which appears to be a throwback to the mid 90s, when any piece-of-shit crime film with a wisecracking protagonist was getting millions of dollars thrown at it; but with the grindhouse filter which was cool a couple of years ago. It's the sort of film where you could watch the first and last ten minutes and not miss a damn thing in the middle.

Or it could be great, I suppose.

"Poolboy: Drowning out the Fury". I'm a bit baffled by this one - I like Kevin Sorbo and Danny Trejo, but this could either be some great low-low-budget indie comedy or some piece of shit like "Not Another Not Another Movie", where a director and writer with zero talent had enough money to rope in some half-decent names. I might even have to give it a go.

SavageHedgehog

I think it's a very funny trailer, but I can't see it working at Full-Length. Would love to be proved wrong.

Rock of Ages, Tom Cruise's supposed 'comeback' vehicle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USxhXb5VC5E

It looks horrible.

SavageHedgehog

Based on the musical currently playing in London with Justin Lee Collins as one of the stars, fact fans!

I disagree, it looks like harmless, trashy fun. For all his detractors, Cruise does actually appear to have a good sense of humour.

I got a pair of free tickets to see the stage show a couple of months back. Harmless, trashy fun pretty much describes it - if you go expecting the story to be much more than a bunch of cliches strung together as an excuse for the songs, you're going to be disappointed. Go just to enjoy the songs, and you'll have a good time.

(Having said that it looks like they've made some changes to the plot in the film, so perhaps the story will stand up better in its own right.)

This is going to be awful, but it really reminds me of something and I can't place it - anyone suggest what I'm getting at?  It's the "like a play but in front of green screen" feeling that does it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3dlehda1K0

I *think* it's Sin City, but might be some of the trippy bits of Natural Born Killers... certainly looks stylish but "From the director of Brainsmasher, Mean Guns, Cyborg, and Nemesis" doesn't give me much hope

But, you know, Clare Kramer (Glory in Buffy S5) in skimpies is always welcome

You've probably already guessed, but it seems like a low-budget and pointlessly violent version of Walter Hill's Streets of Fire.

Nik Drou

I really like the bit with the 100m dash. The rest looks like The Love Guru or something.

copylight

Agreed. That's bought it for me. Generally, he's got something of mild Sellers meets the guy from allo allo and that isn't bad in today's Hollywood field of blandness. With this though, it's like he wants to remodel Ali G for some reason.

copylight

This looks fucking depressing but good. Basically the FBI won't stop at hounding this artist who had a private view invitation in arabic on his desk and some harmless bacteria culture.

SavageHedgehog

The trailer for next year's other Snow White film Mirror Mirror.

Looks bloody awful. I noted Tarsem (Singh) as one to wacth after The Fall (and even though I thought The Cell was pretty poor, I thought he showed clear potential even there), but I couldn't muster up enough enthusiasm to go see Immortals, and this just makes me sad. I'm amazed the one with Kristen Stewart looks more interesting (though still not great).

'God Bless America', Breaking Bad meets Falling Down meets Little Miss Sunshine?

Gosh, the youtube comments for that clip are inordinately appalling.

I loved World's Greatest Dad, but I'm a bit underwhelmed by that trailer.
Spoiler alert
Maybe it's the fact there's a hyperactive and unaccountably enthusiastic girl in tow a-la Super and Kick-Ass. Plus there doesn't seem to be enough ambiguity over whether we're supposed to be cheering him on, when it's being sold via the catharsis of seeing reality show celebs getting shot. Not that I have a tremendous problem with the catharsis of seeing reality show celebs getting shot (in a movie), but I hope Bobcat doesn't get too seduced by it, is all.

The trailer for Lockout is incredible. No cliche is left unturned.

Edit: Ooh, is that the chap from This Is England? He's good!

He gave both Sleeping Dogs Lie and World's Greatest Dad a surprising amount of heart, so I'm vaguely optimistic it'll have more depth to it than the trailer suggests. The hyperactive kiddy does give me cause for concern as well though...

That's just amazing. The line that got me the most was
Spoiler alert
"He's the best there is...But he's a loose cannon!"
