Has anyone posted about this film yet? It's Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's new film and it looks well shit.

Hey, you know what's really fresh? Anal probe jokes! And wouldn't it be, like, hilarious if the alien got stoned?!?

Having said that, as much as this seems like one of those movies which AICN et. al will call "one of the defining films of our generartion!" just before it is ignored by half the planet and then forgotten by the other half three weeks after it hits DVD, it does look sort of funny and Kristen Wiig is purty

Famous Mortimer

I want to be looking forward to it, I really do, but it just looks a bit *shrug*. I just wish Serafinowicz was at the level of stadom of Pegg and could get some of his odd ideas made into films, rather than just *stoned man-children do X*.

Do you think they've ever seen American Dad?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Sucker Punch for 3 reasons - the eye candy, the eye candy(!) and to see how something tha looks so packed in the trailer can possibly be anything other than a huge mess.

Did I mention the eye candy? (mmm... Abbie Cornish....)

My head hurts :(

I want to (Michael Bay)watch this.

Milking the 2012 Armageddon meme for all it's worth and going for that Independence day feeling again by way of district 9. Looks like fun - dying vicariously through American jingoism, woohoo!.

"Scouts Honor: Badge to the Bone"

People are still paying Chris Kattan to be in films in 2011. This could be the worst film ever made:

SavageHedgehog

I actually used to like Chris Kattan back in the day, I think he has some talent as a physical comedian, certainly more than his more successful doppelganger Jimmy Fallon. That does look awful, but its release will be so low key we wont have to worry about it.

Famous Mortimer

It's true he was perfectly fine on SNL, but after "Corky Romano" and "Undercover Brother" I just assumed not even the most desperate producer would hire him.

Look, it's Matt Damon!

And some Men in Dark suits are chasing him.
Also, he's picked up some girl.

I wrote a short story at Uni which was very very similar in concept to that film, although it had a better name than The Adjustment Bureau, mine was called An Agent of Correction.

Pegg and Frost were on Kermode and Mayo this week and criticised the way the show has been marketed and this trailer in particular.

Talulah, really!

Oh, look it's INSIPID-CTION!

It looks as if it has become a staple movie category - Matt Damon Running Away From Weird Shit.

I probably ought to watch one of them, at least. Has he made a comedy version yet?

They had a trailer for Wim Wender's new 3d dance film in the cinema last night. It looked proper amazing.
On youtube it looks proper underwhelming..... still

Emma Raducanu

I saw a trailer for Source Code at the cinema today, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and I just want to say that it looks like the absolute shittest film in concept and in every other way possible. It really did look like a film struggling to justify its existence even in highlight form. I sort of want it to be as bad as it looked.

Harpo Speaks

I thought the concept sounded interesting, but the trailer looks messy and overblown. I'd still be interested to see it as I loved Moon, but going by the trailer the execution and pacing of this is going to be somewhat different.

"Bad Teacher" red-band trailer...  movie looks meh, but Diaz's filthy mouth appeals somehow

I made it to Timberlake's appearance. Off.

Call  me crazy, but I have a creeping suspicion that by the end of the movie she'll have seen the error of her ways, and ends up with that nice Jason Segal fella. I'll be rushing to the cinema to find out for sure though.

Directed by the bloke who did Walk Hard (and that film that Epsiodes was very similar to)? Yeah, it's probably not that good.

Can Diaz carry a comedic movie? Not sure on the strength of this trailer. Timberlake's decent though, Segel plays likeable creeps very well, so... maybe I will watch it.

The other, older female teacher character kind of reminds me of John Ritter's character in "Bad Santa", so I'm wondering if that movie is a major inspiration on this one?

Tiny Poster

Oddly, I don't think it has any ties to Bad Santa beyond the lazy title and both being distributed by Columbia.

The writers are from The Office (like the older teacher you mention), and sadly they also write the execrable Year One. Also, the Ghostbusters III screenplay.

Silly? Yes. Somewhat intriguing? To me, yes. Whose the pusher who looks like a facelifted Kurt Russell?

lipsink

I don't think this Bradley Cooper guy is going to do much in the way of interesting films.

It's a great concept, but I can't help but imagine it'll eventually disappoint. Partially as it's from the writer of Look Who's Talking and Mrs Doubtfire.

He is pretty bland, certainly not a good choice for this sort of thing, but I did quite like Midnight Meat Train. It wasn't good enough for the "rubbish cast: amazing film" film thread, but I would say it was pretty good for a film that starred Cooper, Vinnie Jones and Brooke Shields (it was kind of wierd seeing Shields play an actual character after years of sitcom cameos where she basically played herself)
