My question is, why have they continued to make further iterations of Worms, when World Party is absolutely, objectively the perfect incarnation of the game?  Every subsequent Worms effort has been shockingly shite by comparison.

I've just remembered a good one on Rollercoaster Tycoon (the original), must have been 12 or 13 years ago now...I had a great park with a really high rating, and then in quite a short space of time the average visitor happiness plummeted, and couldn't find anyone in the park, despite appearing to have thousands of visitors. Then a notice came up, "there is no exit to [best rollercoaster]". One piece of paving joining the exit to the path later, and a couple of thousand furious customers storm out of the park, having been trapped inside the ride for hours on end after their go finished.
