Anybody here on 3? Can you access Google?

Every single Google service on 3's data service is broken. I can traceroute to Google servers but there's an odd delay at some [ip address].threemb.co.uk and the whole process is very slow. It works fine on my home broadband connection via wifi so it seems to be a 3 network problem.

It has been this way for some time now, on more than one phone.

I'm with 3 and it's basically pretty much rubbish most of the time. (I know that's not answering your specific query, but seriously, it's shit.)

Google is working again now, but I'm expecting it to not work again in the daytime. It might be that 3 is upgrading their network and there are some routing issues (I can imagine 3 having custom routing for Google because those servers are hit so much). I saw a H+ in my phone's menu bar which I haven't seen before (here).
