NoSleep

The first song she recorded as lead vocalist was with Bill Laswell's Material (originally the same musicians had been backing Daevid Allen in his New York Gong). The composition that was chosen was one written by Hugh Hopper, when he was a member of The Wilde Flowers (from which band emerged both Soft Machine & Caravan), entitled "Memories" and was originally sung by Robert Wyatt (once on Daevid Allen's Banana Moon album and then as the b-side to Wyatt's cover of "I'm A Believer").

So, in a fairly concrete way, she began as one of the Canterbury Scene. RIP, Whitney.

Glebe

Certain sections of the media have been eagerly anticipating this moment for the last few years. Feels like she's almost been wished dead.

I accept the terms of the

The little tone-deaf girl that could (use melisma).
