I am hoping some of you have seen this, and would like see what you thought of it. I really loved the gorgeous cinematography and original story, but felt that certain bits were completely awful.. like Carrey Mulligan singing New York.. that went on for far too long, so much so it felt extremely awkward. However this is the first role where she has played a character that isn't stiff or boring i.e. her role in Driver. Michael Fassbender is becoming popular, its not hard to understand why.. I think he plays the desperation of sexual addiction very well. His execution of dialogue is a joy to watch too..

I also think there was no need for this to be set in America. I think it could have easily be set in the UK and benefited from an even richer backdrop. I can't wait to see what McQueen has planned for his next project.
