New 5 minute trailer for Cloud Atlas:

http://beyondthemarquee.com/11108/

It looks pretty good!

Phil_A

Oh christ. This trailer came up yesterday at the cinema. There are almost no words to describe how bad this looks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf4aaxIH-nQ

It's like The Hangover for people who thought The Hangover was too highbrow. LOL A SHEEP!! WELL RANDOM!!! LOOK AT THAT FAT GIRL!! SHE'S REALLY FAT!!!!!!!!!1

We also got the trailer for The Keith Lemon Movie, which I sincerely hope is a massive flop. Wasn't a good day for trailers on the whole.

Captain Crunch

When does the 'On The Road' film come out please?  I thought it was this September but there's nothing on any of my local listings, even the indy wankhouse over the way.

Thanks.

Just seen this, it's one adaptation I'd be quite interested in seeing. It always seemed like it would be an unfilmable novel, but I must say the trailer suggested to me that they are taking it in an interesting direction and just embracing the oddity of the book, following up every story. Potentially great, but it would still be easy for them to fuck it up.

Some shocking trailers in this thread.

I've built up a collection of free Cineworld and Showcase tickets with the M&Ms Sweet Sundays offer that don't expire till mid Janauary. The films I'll probably use them are The Master, Skyfall, Agro, Django Unchained and Gangster Squad.

My Dad loathes Tom Cruise and has read all the Jack Reacher books so I might take him to see that for a laugh.

Like your naughty geezers? St George's Day will get you excited, no Danny Dyer for reasons unknown, but to compensate Ashley Walters is in this!

Ave it!!

What's Vinnie Jones' exscuse?

rjd2

Dunno what he would offer that Dan from Eastenders can't!

Neil Maskell was great in kill list but he does seem a little limited when it comes to picking film roles sadly.

The Duck Man

spock rogers

This is not a movie, but it's movie-related. The trailer for new Star Wars comedy show Detours, from the people who did Robot Chicken. It looks diabolical (although it is probably aimed at 3-5 year olds), but it contains two of the most annoying, lazy tropes of modern comedy: 1) a character talking in a "rap/urban" way, and 2) characters dancing. Also, why does the Emperor sound like the baby from Family Guy?

Hank Venture

Bedevilled: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbSZqvDvOFs
Having that! Reminiscent of the classic grindhouse trailers. It just needs a gruff voice reading the layover text out loud.

#holdyourbreath: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiBZWC-SwOw
Yes, really, with the hashtag. Looks like a run of the mill version of what Cabin in the Woods was trying to lampoon. Dogshit.

Girl Model: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbALBvRek1k
Something for the grim documentaries thread. The talent scout seems like a terrible human being. Fuck it, they all do. Scumbags.

Killing Them Softly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDyaNnrgdp4
Brad Pitt stars in The Good Sopranofellas. Looks like style over substance, unfortunately.

Side By Side: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POLylqWL-j8
The Directors Studio lead by the utterly lifeless Keanu Reeves. A series of interviews with filmmakers about the transition from analogue to digital moviemaking. Interesting.

The Awakening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1Bx6iBmgpc
McNulty does Woman In Black at Hogwarts. Could be good, could just be a lot of jump scares.

Bernie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJuhWKcY_6U
Awful. Looks like the worst movie since the last time I saw Jack Black.

House At The End of the Street: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7V9thTmoc_s
Hot girl moves to a new house in a rural village. The guy next door had his parents murdered by his now disappeared sister. He takes an interest in her. Strange things happen. The viewer turns the movie off to have a wank.

Tai Chi 0: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcpJNByGFSc
Kung Fu Hustle meets Nic Cage's The Wicker Man. Seems like silly fun.

The Man With the Iron Fists: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VRLA17l4CI
Whoa, actually looking forward to this. Kung Fu Hustle mixed with Kill Bill, seemingly. Directed by RZA, who has an encyclopedic knowledge of kung fu genre cinema, so I'm expecting a lot of nods and winks to old classics (of which I've seen none). Quentin's got his grubby little fingers all over this. Actually looking forward to it.

phantom_power

Killing Them Softly is from the director of the brilliant The Assassination Of Jessie James, so I am looking forward to it, as well as The Man With The Iron Fists

Fucking hell - shrill fucking shite.

Bernie's alright. Yes, Jack Black gets to
Spoiler alert
sing

and

dance

in it but it's not his stock performance style, and it's an unusual (true) story to try and make a comedy out of.

The #1 lazy trope of modern comedy is doing a riff on something from Star Wars

I agree with SavageHedgehog, but isn't 2) a reference to this?

Having seen the trailer for Killing Them Softly I am even more looking forward to this. A great support cast as well

Povidone

You'd think people would eventually notice how many times 'The Man Comes Around' has been used on film soundtracks and say "hang on chaps, this is getting a bit tired, better use one of the other hundreds of billions of songs that probably exist".

phantom_power

But it is the best song for getting across a sense of jaunty doom

This looks pretty good, directed by the same guy who did Oldboy I am expecting good things from this.

The Duck Man

This trailer is utterly baffling. Looks like one of those utterly terrible gross-out comedies and yet it's cast includes...

QuoteHalle Berry, Elizabeth Banks, Kristen Bell, Kate Bosworth, Gerard Butler, Kieran Culkin, Josh Duhamel, Anna Faris, Richard Gere, Terrence Howard, Hugh Jackman, Johnny Knoxville, Justin Long, Stephen Merchant, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloë Moretz, Chris Pratt, Liev Schreiber, Tony Shalhoub, Emma Stone, Jason Sudeikis, Uma Thurman, Naomi Watts, Seann William Scott, Kate Winslet

It's a mass blackmail project.
