Changing my Avatar

As you can see I'm currently without an Avatar. I did have a rather charming Oingo Boingo one a while back but then tried to change it and now I don't seem to be able to upload a new one (or get the old one back). Am I doing something wrong, how do you upload an Avatar linked from Google or Yahoo images or are you not allowed?

There seems to be no correct place to put this, but The Boston Crab's new avatar is annoyingly sexy.  Wistful sigh.
