Absorb the anus burn

Yeah, was just coming on here to post the same thing.
Absolute gutter.
'I Feel Love' is still by far my favourite dance record in the world.  Genuinely timeless.

RIP Donna.

Her late 70s / early 80s output is amazing. A massive influence on my slide sideways into Krautrock.

Very sad about this. Donna Summer was involved in so many great pieces of music.

In fact, I think this YouTube commenter puts it best: "Do like Donna, especially the track she did with Gorgio Moroder, what was it called ??????"

Hadn't heard this before. Thanks for posting it.

Fucking cancer indeed. The Moroder years were awesome. Something really must have been in the water in Germany in the seventies. 'Once Upon A Time' is a vastly underrated album.

on the radio & love to love you baby great stuff
god bless

Too young.

I'd be lying if I said - key singles aside - that I was familiar with the entire breadth of her discography or had her albums on a constant loop, but RIP nonetheless.

Sad news.  Her version of State Of Independence is one of the best pick-me-up pop records put out.  If it hasn't received a mention in that Best Cover Versions thread, it should get one.

Currently listening to the 15 minute Patrick Cowley Remix of I Feel Love.

Why have I never listened to this before?  Same as the original but goes on for bloody ages with added bleepy bits.  Fantastic.
Some of the tape-edits in it are a bit crap though.

Poor Donna, the news really saddened me.  She could even make Barbra Streisand sound good.

Aye, the Cowley mix is amazing, I listened to it on the way home a few nights ago. One interesting thing struck me about 'I Feel Love' recently - the vocals fade out but the music keeps on going for longer before it eventually fades out too. I was trying to think of any other records where the vocals alone fade out early, but none spring to mind.

Morrissey seems to do a few of these, here's one -
'Southpaw' (1995) -

The vocals fade out at 4:47, the song continues to 10:02

(But, obviously, it's not a patch on I Feel Love!)

Speaking of which, here's my favourite 'I Feel Love' influenced song :
