Not sure why Ferrer bothered showing up for this match, seems in complete awe of Rafa and playing really poor. Rafa obviously has been good but I really expected a little more from Ferrer. Really meek stuff indeed.

selectivememory

Nadal seems to be in ferocious form at the moment, only a Djokovic playing the match of his life will have any chance on Sunday. Speaking of which, Djok and Federer are up, I'm thinking Djok in four or five sets, hoping so as well, a Federer-Nadal final will be no contest at all.

Famous Mortimer

This is a fine semi-final. They're both playing really well, I predict a long one. Well, I hope so, because I'm off for a bath and hope it's still on when I come back down.

selectivememory

Hugely impressive set from Djokovic, can't see him losing it from here.

Some of the tennis Roger played in the last few games of that set was dismal to be fair.

Yeah, I'd agree with that, but it was the way Novak kept coming back at him from being a break or two down that was especially impressive to me, having seen him do similar things to Nadal in their most recent major finals.

biggytitbo

I think Roger is still playing at an amazing level for a man his age (especially st the end of last year) but he needs to understand that he might still be able to waltz into the semi finals but the other 3 or 4 players at that stage are now better than him when it really counts. Hard to accept but true.

But Sunday presents probably the greatest betting opportunity of all time. I just had a look on betfair and you can get Djokovic at 4/1 to win. 4 to fucking 1!? Am I dreaming?

This is Djokovic, whose owned every player on the tour for the last 2 years, who's totally dominated Nadal for the last 2 years including on clay,  who's played probably the best sustained tennis of anyone whose ever lived for the last 2 years, who's had the ability again and again to respond to anything anyone has every been able to throw at him, Nadal more than anyone.

And he's 4 to 1?! This is the best bet I've ever seen in my life. Even if you think Nadal will win, which I do, 4/1 is absolutely fucking mental value. I'm going big time on it, you'd be a fool not to.

Famous Mortimer

Very one-sided women's final, but Sharapova played very well. I do hope they work out some noise-dampening system in future though, because anyone wandering past my house would have been concerned I was watching violent but very rythmic pornography.

rjd2

Yeah Errani was never winning that match sadly.Don't like Sharapova to much but its impressive that she is so committed when she doesn't need Tennis anymore.
Wimbledon will be much more difficult for her, Serena is always fierce on grass, Petra and Azarenka will also be genuine contenders. Lots of dangerous floaters like Kerber, Kimmy,Venus and Bartoli floating about. Maybe even Stosur may finally do something here as well, as she does have a game that should do well on grass.

Mildly Diverting

I know its only early, but that 4-1 Djoko bet is looking like shite odds.

doppelkorn

A full day of good sport from now until bedtime!

My money's literally on Rafa to do him in three sets as he crumbles.

EDIT! he was at 1/20 while Djokovic was 8/1 so I put 50p on the Srp

Ferro Carril

I just got on Djoko at 5/1.

Oh yeah?

Greatest betting opportunity of all time...

Mildly Diverting

More to the point, which ghost channel that I almost certainly can't get will ITV ship this over to if this goes to four or five sets?

doppelkorn

Two stunning points by Djoko there, followed by netting it.

@Mild it'll most probably be ITV4 but you can watch online

biggytitbo

I don't know what ITV are playing at really, putting it on the main channel knowing full well they'll have to cut it off half way through.

ITV4 it'll go on wont it?

Mildly Diverting

Yes, bloody stupid as per.

Cheers doppelkorn.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

dandoystevski

Novak's gotta win his fucking serve before he can think about winning the game. Been a total piece of shit so far.

buntyman

What's wrong with ITV changing channel?

Obel

Sigh. I've put money on Djoko, where the fuck is he?

rjd2

Just tuned it in, Novak serving like a WTA player yes?

He's looking very lacklustre isn't he? Dunno what's wrong with him, but even at 2 - 0 I still wouldn't put it past him to find something from somewhere.

selectivememory

Yep, he's had some impressive moments, but rather up and down which suits Nadal's relentlessness. Still, if anyone could win from the situation he's in now, it's him.

biggytitbo

Stupendous point from Nadal there...but Djokovic has been on the edge of defeat many times in the last two years and has still found a way out, if he does that here it'll be his best every performence.

biggytitbo

Looks like that's that then, I think I'll watch the footy.

4/1 was a great price, but he's getting paddled!

selectivememory

Come on Novak! Serving for the third set, the comeback is on. I knew he wouldn't let us down, that's some impressive tennis for him to win five on the trot like that.

biggytitbo

The real Djokovic has turned up! I wonder if Nadals mental weaknesses against Novak will now start to creep in again?

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Not convinced about mental weakness- he was brushed aside in a few ATP matches once Novak had got the better of him, but Nadal always delivers in major finals, and to beat him you know you've beaten the best he can give.
