Needless to say, I already discovered this a few weeks ago.

But I think Luke Vibert beat us both.

A surprising amount of other people have also sampled it.  They're all the sort of people I usually check out for[nb]Nas, Apani B Fly, High & Mighty, Prince Paul, Vibert, Mark B, Quasimoto, Jeru[/nb], but somehow I've managed to miss all the uses of this track.

Ooooooh, you're not wrong.  This track has everything!  Seeking out the vinyl...

It's strangely on 3 different Bruton LPs.  All >£60.  Poop.

I was there before you - checked them out a few weeks ago and then tracked them down on soulseek instead...

I long for the day I walk into some tumbleweed charity shop in some grim industrial northern town, staffed by a little old lady. "LPs dear? Yes, I have a few boxes in the back....can't budge them"

Ooh Ta. I've got a couple of his compilations (The Bosworth Archive, Music for Biscuits) so this should be interesting.

Has anyone read his book?

It was a hundred odd quid the last time I looked.

I have that, blimey I wasn't aware it was rare, it does come with a rather fab CD comp too

Just thought I'd bump this thread to let anyone interested know that a

, and is available as a "freeleech" for the next few days.

How does one register for MySpleen?

Trying to find some of these on Soulseek reminds me of the need to be specific. "Library music" just gets everyone who names their main folder "Music Library".

Just try KPM, Bruton etc. Or look them up on discogs and type in some track names with artists

The Brass Eye episode should have used this album for its incidental music

They've got some great tunes, but you'd be surprised at how much crap they put out too!

I'm digging the Drugs music.  Sounds a little like Bernard Fevre.
This same Youtube channel is full of great stuff, currently grooving to lots of Benoit Hutin.

I'm not sure if this one has been mentioned before, but my brother ( a big KPM fan) put me on to it. Best library music tune of all-time IMO. Electric guitar, string section, brass, harps, funky breaks ready for Hip-Hop sampling - the motherlode.

Oooooooooooooooooh, fucking nice!
I know this tune from this High & Mighty (Rawkus) gem that sampled it.

It seems Beyonce and Maverick 'Fucking' Sabre have also had a go, with less impressive results.

Has anyone got this?

The 'problem' with stuff like KPM is that there are tons and tons of albums, the vast majority of which aren't really very good. You need quite a decent knowledge to discern the decent stuff from the sub par and can end up with dozens of boring records (as I did), if you aren't careful.

monkfromhavana

That's why you listen to stuff on YT first if it's on there.

Christ, when did KPM start doing these awful (point missing) remixes.

Yeah, what is point?
The scratching's decent at least.  But it does remind me of that fucking shit Canteloupe Island remix (US3).

Luke Vibert's compiled a series of library music compilations called Nuggets.
They are bloody excellent.

Excellent stuff.  Alan Hawkshaw's Beach Journey sounds like an MF Doom beat to me.  If I had any handy I'd definitely put a Doom accapella over it, you know it'd sounds butter-smooth.

How about Scratch City by James Asher?  It sounds like an Aphex Twin tune from the late 90s.  So advanced!
