Nice story here. In the summer of 2001, someone posted a mail with a handful of transcribed storyettes from Dan Rhode's book Anthropology. If you haven't heard of this and like the adjectives 'macabre' and 'misanthropic' as official praise to your comedy reading jump on 2nd hand amazon.

I small-replied to the guy telling him the etcs on enjoyment had from reading. A few weeks later got a call from reception to pick up a package...hmm...this guy had done the legend step of piecing together my work postal address and inside was a copy of Anthrology which travelled with me from Ireland to Seattle, wa.

Dan has a new book out and I want to send a copy to repay the favour 3 years later.
