That fast drying paint sketch....why doesn't Syd let go of the brush? It's not like he's hanging from a cliff edge.

Sabina Franklyn doing an almost Her Who Plays Villanelle- esque Russian accent completes the star- studded line up of that Spaceman Syd sketch what's already been referred to. All that talent for a sketch that would have been rejected from " Play Away" for being below par.

The spaceman sketch is jaw droppingly bad. So much wrong with that. Don't the postman and milkman have jobs to do? It's just a series of really poor one liners ("£100,000 so you can spend a penny.")

Can't believe what I'm reading here guys, a precious new episode is uploaded (from the mythical season 10 no less!) and not only does everyone rip into it but people are even admitting to turning it off after the first few sketches!

Anyway, I made a bite sized highlights reel for people who can't or WON'T pay attention for a full episode:

Love it. Well done. Perfectly captured how it should best be remembered.

Fuck, that's amazing. I watched it immediately after Nic Cage freakathon Color Out Of Space and I don't know which was more disturbing. I thought it was going to turn into Un Chien Andalou at one point. But that dog wasn't from Andaluz. And now I'm going to have to watch the whole episode...

We need to get this thread to half-a-million views.

"Not much happening lately, Syd!"

"No Eddie, but hopefully somebody will upload more episodes! Hint hint!"

I only just got round to watching this tonight. Good work! The golf bit Is my favourite.

And I only recently watched the Grease Megamix sketch. It's like Epic Movie but instead of big budget movies as the reference point, it's UK Light Entertainment from the early 90s. A bit better, I guess.

Didn't know it'd been taken down... it was in chunks though, wasn't it?

Brundle-Fly

Eddie's (sans Syd) brief appearance in an interminably long EastEnders two-parter skit on Comic Relief 2001. The whole affair is stuffed with cameos. It's quite disheartening knowing how certain people's lives unfolded/ faces folded since then. June Brown was still nearly twenty years older than me even back then. Remarkable for such a heavy smoker that she continues to knock about.

Can't believe they used up their best gag in the trailer...

BTW, 1990!

I'm more fascinated by the trailer for Jim'll Fix It, and the woman whose dream was to sit in chromakey studio pretending to be excited about Weston Super Mare.

Then we cut to the eponymous Little and Large, and my brain assumed these two clips were connected.  "That flying thing is the camera," it said.  It genuinely took me a good ten or fifteen seconds to stop trying to resolve Little and Large as Weston Super Mare.

Alberon

It's fitting.

Little and Large are the Weston Super Mare of light entertainment, after all.

The NKotB skit at the start of that episode is also mind-boggling. Kenny Baker prolly thinking, "I'm R2-fucking-D2, what the fuck am I doing this shit for?"*

*Only jokin', Syd and Eddie - cracking stuff!

The whole series is on YouTube again... bizarre seeing Savile in the titles.

Second episode has an amusing anecdote from Una Stubbs about men wanking at nudie shows.

three minutes in. I can't recall a worse piece of TV comedy than that broom business at the top. Dire.
