I generally give any Youtube videos with Wallace about six years to season before I consume them.

Some interesting developments on Dan Bell's channel recently. He's come out and admitted one of his most notorious videos "Trapped and Terrified", in which he seemingly hid in the bathroom of a Baltimore trap house to avoid getting murdered by dealers, was completely staged.

This has led to a lot of outraged comments along the lines of "OH MY GOD HOW COULD YOU LIE TO US LIKE THIS?? I'LL NEVER TRUST ANYONE AGAIN, etc"

Really, I think it's a valuable lesson for some people not to believe everything you see on youtube. Generally I think Bell's trustworthy and avoid over-sensationalising stuff(clickbaity titles aside), and god knows there are enough real fakers out there who would never admit to it even after being called-out.

Cinemasins is the bottom of the barrel.

This YouTuber I'm fond of has done a few videos critisizing them.

Anyone who watches educational videos on Youtube but doesn't know about Captain Disillusion better fix that shit immediately. This might be the most well-produced video I've ever watched.

Ace, isn't he? This (Sedona Gateway) is another beauty https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5EDORs8Jkk, but you could pretty much select any of his stuff.

I wish. Been getting all 57 minutes of Bernard Manning Ungagged recommended for me. Fuck knows what I've watched to warrant that.

Yeah, I really like this. I avoided it before because it felt like one of those slick soulless channels made by production companies, but this really is just one passionate, talented dude. I love the crazed goddess who wants dates with him. It's like an early-90s American Midwest production in a way, with the knowing characters and droll humour. Reminds me of MST3K.

I'd really like him to debunk some American reality TV stuff (I genuinely think society needs a kick in the pants to stop them actually believing anything they see in these shows--from Top Chef through to Jersey Shore--is real or something to aspire to) but that's outside of the visual effects remit.

I might go as far as starting a new thread when this releases more fully*, but for now Kyle 'The Final' Bosman of Easy Allies, (née Game Trailers) fame has been working his fucking ass off for months to make a cardboard cutout homage/parody of Shonen-style game-based anime shows called Box Peek.

The first episode's out as a preview long before the rest will be, and I think it's great, a lovely little thing, funny, smart game design, clearly made with a lot of passion and already intriguing.

*and I can work out where to put an episodic parody Youtube series coming from a video games discussion group member... (Picture Box? Comedy Chat? Technology??)

One of those brazen CG jobs innit? Fairly unabashedly I thought. Top notch garbling though.
